Tabletop Vignettes

2.01.2010

Hi, and welcome to my third post. I want to thank everyone so much for the warm welcome to blog land and for the great comments. I am still in the learning process, in fact this is my second time trying to do this post! Ugh!

I am trying to link up with Barb at Grits and Glamour and would like to thank her for hosting this party. Be sure and visit with all the other participants that are linked up. http://gritsglamour.blogspot.com/

I am going to share some vignettes in various locations in my home. My vignettes change fairly often especially when I go out shopping and something ends up coming home with me. Then I find a place for it and have to find a new spot for the piece it replaced. It is a vicious cycle. lol  Does anyone else have this problem??

The first vignette is on the table behind my sofa in my great room. I started collecting some Staffordshire reproductions and I love this one of a lady. I cannot figure out what she is holding, but I love the endearing look on her face. I also love the chippy patina of the planter I found at a local flea market and the cute cute picture is my darling granddaughter who is patiently awaiting the arrival of her baby sister!!

The next pictures are some more views of the vignette on my chest in the foyer. I have used a stack of books to add texture and give some height to the arrangement.

The last vignette is an arrangement on my dining room buffet. I have another reproduction Staffordshire lady figurine and a Staffordshire plate I bought on ebay from an old estate.

I love the chippy patina of this large jug that I found at Hobby Lobby for a steal. It looks like and old olive jar and the real ones are quite expensive. I have included a close up of the back of the plate.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I would love to hear from you so please leave a comment.

  7. Hi Kim, you sound just like me about constantly changing things around, especially after shopping. After all, we need to find a home for what we bring home, right? Your vignettes are all so lovely, each and everyone of them. You have a knack for this....Christine

  9. Welcome to Blogland! It can be challenging at first but you'll get the hang of it! Your blog looks great already! Love all of your vignettes! I especially like how you posted the first one, starting out with the close-ups and then getting to the one with the lamps - it was a nice sort of "reveal".
