Look What I Found.....

3.09.2010

....at one of my favorite stores, Home Goods. Yesterday we had the most glorious weather so I just had to go out in it. Actually I had to go to the store regardless of the weather. Anyway, it was 74 degrees here and oh how I have Spring fever more than ever! I jumped got in my car and skinned the top back. Oh yea, we are talking convertible here, and went for a little joy ride. I was going to Home Goods to see if I could find a soft pale blue coverlet for my bed, but did not find that. I walked over to the dish section to see if they had any great buys and I did come away with a couple. Check these out!

Look at how pretty this lidded canister is. Such a pretty little bird sitting on a branch that just exudes Spring. I found this on the clearance aisle for seven dollars!

That's right seven dollars.

This is the pretty branch continued on the back.

I think this may be a warbler, but not real sure. I looked in my bird book and could not find an exact match. Any bird experts out there know what kind of bird this is?

Now don't these look delicious. Well, you better look closer and you better ask Bailey before you grab one.

These are actually her all natural treats and now I have this cute canister to keep them fresh while they look pretty setting on the counter.

These are the other pretties I found. Only problem there were only four. I hate when that happens. So now I will be on the thrill of the hunt for at least two to four more. The plates were three dollars each.

Then I checked out the aisle with the table linens and was looking for napkins. I saw these daisy printed items and it had a tag on them that said it was a tablecloth. I thought it sure is awfully small for a tablecloth. It had a ribbon wrapped around it so I took it off and it was a stack of napkins. Scored another one. $4.97 for six of these beauties! In a future post I will show you what I do with these so stay tuned......

This week I am linking to Nifty Thrifty Tuesday over at Coastal Charm. Thank you Linda for hosting this party. Be sure and click on the link to check out all the other thrifty finds and get some great inspiration from these bloggers. I am always amazed at what people find and how they turn a lot of their finds into very expensive looking pieces.

Just drop me a note and let me know your were here. I appreciate each and every comment.

Y'all come back now,

KIM

  9. LOVE Home Goods. And you know I love that canister!! And the plates are gorgeous. I also hate it when you only find 4 plates...I've turned a few down because of that. Still on the hunt for a set of 10-12 spring plates for use at Easter dinner. Can't wait to see what you do with the napkins.

  12. Kim, what a great find! I MUST go to Home Goods at least twice a week to check what's new. I don't always leave with something, but it's always fun to go. When I stopped by TJ Maxx a few days ago, they were marking down almost everything.

  15. Kim, I am glad to know that I am not alone in loving green majolica plates. I bought about 7 plates 2 years ago and I finally put my 3 green ones above my stove on the range(it had a place for plates and it only took me 3 1/2 years to figure that out). Great price on those plates, I am jealous!

  22. Hi Kim,
Well, you did good! What a fun shopping trip. Those plates and napkins will look good mixed in with your other things. And the canister is adorable, perfect for the doggie treats. (I believe that is a "faux bird"!). Homegoods is a bit of a drive for me, have to stick to Ross, but right now if I bring one more thing home it would be a disaster. I have nowhere to put any new stuff. I really need to organize my storage closet better. Then I can go shopping!
The Mr.'s bday was the 4th. He's getting old. :)!! Almost catching up to me!
    Have a great week,
    XO

  25. Kim, I know most expensive mag I have ever purchased. Wish I had the Walmart discount to make me feel better. I kind of have a thing (problem) with magazines. I have finally gotten down to only two coming to the house. (and lot's of free catalogs) So, I splurged!

  40. HomeGoods is my favorite, and we don't have one anywhere near us. When I visit my daughter in Orlando, I stock up. I just found there is one in St. Louis, so a trip there might just have to happen before long. It is only a couple hours away:) I love your new things!
