Sister's House Part III

4.03.2010

Today I am going to show you her family room. Very casual, comfortable and it just begs you to come in, have a seat, and stay a while. With two boys, hubby, and a male Boston terrier, she has slipcovers on the sofa and chairs for easy clean up.

This is a large cabinet she found at a local consignment store. I love the mix of old items displayed inside.

Old and new books

Love this old crock

I love the way she has set some antlers on top of this design book.
These deer antlers were given to her husband by a friend. I was
hoping she would share the love with me, but that is o.k.

The sun was pouring in which made it hard to get pictures of this area. Sofa table tucked in behind the slipcovered sofa in this bay window nook. Two hand painted lamps she found at HomeGoods.

Some close ups of her coffee table.

Wonderful mixture of glass, silver, wood and greenery.

Cabinet to the right houses the television. This is the room they enjoy watching t.v. together.

This is the view of the room from the sitting room I showed you HERE the other day. She made the no sew window panels. I wish I had gotten a better picture of the chandy they added a while back.

Old lantern and brown transferware display on this wall.

I told you she keeps making changes. She emailed me these photos because she switched out the rug to this
seagrass rug to give the room a lighter feel and brought the white ottoman down from the master bedroom.

I hope you enjoyed this room. It is one of my favorites in her home. Thanks so much for all the great comments you have left on her other rooms. She has loved reading them, too. I need to get some better pictures of her kitchen so I can share it with you, too. I will have to check with her on that. So be sure to check back soon for more.

Going to link this up with Show and Tell Friday at the Romantic Home Blog, hosted by Cindy.

I hope everyone has a super Easter holiday weekend with your families. Enjoy the spring break vacation time, too. If you are traveling I hope everyone has a safe trip.

Y'all come back now,

KIM

  5. Oh I love it! I like how she put the fern on the coffee table. I have several faux ferns that I haven't set out, unsure where to put them. I will definately have to copycat the one on the coffee maybe even the fireplace too! Very nice decor, thanks for sharing. :)
