Just Something I Threw Together

5.10.2010

I hope everyone is having a good day. I have been busy getting ready for a brunch that I am giving my mother tomorrow for a late Mother's Day get together. I am providing the home and part of the food and my sister is coming and bringing the other part of the food. Looking forward to spending time with my mom and sister with good food and conversation. To get ready I have been cleaning, of course, and setting the table so everything will be ready in the morning.

I had to make a run to the store to look for a decent looking pie plate for a quiche that I am making so I ended up at Marshall's. Found the pie plate right off the bat for $7.99 and then of course I had to look around. Well, I found this wonderful twine or jute bag full of different sized and textured balls and it was only $5.99. I looked at it and knew just what to do with it.

Just look at this bag of goodies. I loved the bag more than the stuff.

I  already had this urn. I purchased it several years ago in Destin, Fl. while visiting my Dad.
My step mom and I went shopping and this was hand made by an artist.

I cut the bag open down one side and it created this beautiful netting just like I thought it would.

Please excuse the number of pictures I took. I just got a tripod and have been trying it out.

I added three different starfish to the mix that I already had. The green lichen thing in the back was saved out of an old flower arrangement that I took apart. I love the texture that it adds.

Just look at all the different textures going on here.

I love my changed tabletop now. It may stay this way for a while. Who knows!

Did you notice my new blog button on my sidebar?!. I want to send out a special thank you to Rene over
at  Cottage and Vine for making that for me this morning. She is such a sweet blog friend. If you have not checked out her blog please do. You won't be disappointed.

I am joining Linda at  Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday
and
Marty over at  A Stroll Thru Life  for Tabletop Tuesday.

Please be sure and go over and check out the other thrifty finds this week and some vignettes to get
some inspiration from.

Y'all come back now,

KIM

Uh oh, it looks like another sneak peek of another project.

I don't know why my link in your sidebar is saying "obsolete feed" I thought we figured this out (late!) last night...but anyway I'm still here and would love for you to drop by for a visit!
