Look What I Found

5.28.2010

My goodness is it Friday already?! This week flew by and last weekend is a blur since all I have done is paint. Well, yesterday was a day just for me so I went to the flea market and found a few new treasures.

I love this little crystal footed bowl. Look at those flowers cut into the glass.

Love the open pattern on top.

I got two of these copper look initialed tags to use.

Took some jute and tied the tag onto this jar.

This vintage doorknob for six dollars. They have been twelve or more every time I have come across one.

I love the patina and workmanship of these old knobs.

Last but not least this is my favorite find. This is a huge piece that was standing up behind several other
things in the booth. I leaned over to see what it was and looked at the price and thought I could use it.
It is just and old pallet that has been turned into a piece of art. I love the whimsy of this piece and at only
$22. it was coming home with me. I have the perfect place for it and will show you that in a future post.
Bailey had to get in the photo, too.

I sure hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!

I am at over 500 followers already. Thank you so much!

  8. Hi Kim! Love your finds. I especially like the picture. In the late 70's when I was in high school, I worked at a gift shop that sold these pictures; they were made by a company named Raisin Rack (don't know why I remember that!). They were super popular, and still look cute today. Can't wait to see where you put it!

  9. Kim-You and I are obviously not shopping in the same places :) I love everything you found. The old pallet makes a wonderful piece of art and I would love to find some door knobs--even at $22. Have a wonderful MD weekend!

  10. Hey Kim, You scored great on the old doorknob. I am constantly on the lookout for them especially the glass ones but they are all too expensive that I have seen. But tomorrow's another "salening" day so who knows? It might be my lucky day for pretty door knob finds! Have a fabulous holiday weekend.xo Lynn @ thevintagenest

  29. You are an A+ shopper. I would like to just tag along and watch how you find things. I'm usually turned off by the smell of a store, or the mess of it all. My SIL is gifted like you. I mostly head to TJ Maxx and Target. Thanks for inspiring me...I do have a desire to find fun things like you do!

  34. Hi Kim, I love all your finds this week and I especially love the crystal footed bowl. You are right it really looks similar to my sherbert/compote cups I found at GW last week. It's amazing all the pretty things I have found. Today I did a beautiful pink table with so many dishes, etc. that I have found the last few weeks at GW and SA. I'm hooked on thrifting now... who knew?? Thank you for visiting!
    Hugz,
    Kim
