Look Who Has Found A New Home

I want to share some photos with you of a new visitor to our home. In fact she is making herself right at home. She didn't ask she just simply started taking things from around our yard and found her a room and has made her a new bed!

Here she is. Yes, with part of our yard hanging out of her beak.
Forgive these photos, they were taken inside my front door. If I open the door she will fly.
In fact she flies every time she sees me.

This is her new bed in her new bedroom.
This is up under our roof over our front porch.

She always lands on the bench and looks around before flying back up to her new perch.
Some of these photos decided to turn blue through the glass.

I finally caught a shot of her on the nest. She sees me and then she's gone.

Best shot I could get through my dirty window.

Another thing that came to my house today is the giveaway I won back on April 1 from CSN through Rhonda's blog, Blue Creek Home.

Thank you Rhonda for having that giveaway. I was so thrilled to win. Even though what I picked was on back order it did finally arrive.

Aren't they great. Now I have to figure out what I am going to do with them. I will show you once I do.

Linking my birdy photos to A Southern Daydreamer  for Outdoor Wednesday. I always look forward to this party since I love working in the yard and I love to see what y'all are doing in yours.

Thanks so much for all the responses to the flood in Nashville post I did. My son and family are fine and drying out now.

Please let me know you dropped by.

Y'all come back now,

Here is a sneak peek at what I have been doing all day.

  1. Great photos of the little bird.
I really like what you ordered from CSN. I went to their website and they really have a lot of different things!

  2. You are lucky to have such a sweet visitor. I could sit and watch the birds all evening. My favorite part of the day is filling up the birdbaths and watching them find the fresh water.
We have recently had a bluebird which is a real treat here.

  3. OK...that is just mean! You know I have no patience! I want to see your new project NOW;)!

The boxes you ordered ar darling...can't wait to see what you do with those! Are you going to use them inside or out? SEE...I told you I don't have any patience!

Your new pet is so sweet...she likes your house as much as I do;)!

    Have a wonderful evening!

  4. I luv to watch the birds in my garden as they fly about. But I like to watch the orieo as he and his mate take baths in the bird bath. They are to quick if I come up to take a pic. Have a great day...Julian

  5. Cindy, your bird pictures are great. They're so hard to capture on film since they are so afraid of us humans. I think the blue one are kind of neat. Nice effect.
    Take care!

  6. I love that little bird and her new home. I have a family of blue birds in my backyard. So fun to watch!

  7. Precious birdy Kim! Guess what? I just won a gift certificate to CSN from Trinkets and Treasures. I had the hardest time choosing, but when I did, it arrived the very next day! I couldn't believe it. Now I'm seeing what you got and wishing I had seen it too!
Ha! Can't wait to see where you put them!

  8. Kim,

Last summer a little bird made a nest in one of my hanging planters. The kids named her Flyer (because she likes to fly - clever). Then one day we peeked in to find three little tan eggs. Oh, the pictures of her babies are priceless. I'll have to post those soon. Have fun with your new little addition!

  9. What a sweet little visitor! Soon there will be more!

Great prize! Looking forward to seeing what you do with them.

    ~ Tracy

  10. So cute! It's so special when we see nature that up close and personal. Also I have that same granite in my kitchen. :P

  11. What a sweet little mama birdie! I bet you're going to have baby birdies soon!
    Enjoy, Andrea

  12. Well, naturally I'm a couple of days behind. Yesterday was the day they took those two big oaks down in my yard. Anyway, I shall go back and see what I managed to miss. Hey honey, you are an empty nester no more! (Referring to your profile on the sidebar.) You have a new momma in your yard and your nest is now filled! Don't you love those funny little bird mommas? I love what you picked. "Garden" speaks my language!

  13. Aaaah1 I love watching birds. How sweet she was working so hard to make her nest and it looks like a perfect little nest, what type of bird is she? We have all kinds of birds in our backyard because of the big cypress trees and I love sitting and watching them at the feeders. Nature is a wondrous thing isn't it? Have a good evening Kim, Hugs Kathysue

  14. What sweet photos of the birds! It's so hard to get good ones! Love your pretty boxes, too! You'll have fun with those! ♥

  15. I figured when you said you full of yellow paint that you were working on that armoire in the sunroom!!! I'll bet that is how you saw the little birdie, too! Glad your son and family are dying out. My Dierks Bentley sent a picture of himself standing in 2 feet of water in their basement as well. The Opry and Hall of Fame in Nashville are also damaged. So very sad...

  16. Oh, my gosh, Kim. She is so sweet!! I hope one day we get to see her babies!!

Your prizes are so fun. Look forward to seeing what you will do with them.

  20. Oh how neat! You were able to get great pictures to share of your new neighbor. Ha! How sweet is that nest! I always think how amazing it is to see what they create. Now you'll have be on the look out for eggs. What in the world are you painting? It looks VERY interesting. I've been racking my brain to try to figure out what you own that looks like that. Hmmmmm....what room will it go in?

  21. Wait.....I bet I figured it out. Is it the cabinet in the sunroom? BTW, I really like those garden containers too. I noticed you have 2, so if you don't need 2, well you know where I live. Ha!!

  22. Sweet little bird! I love your giveaway pieces, can't wait to see what you do with them!

  23. You know that spring wreath DIY that I did a few weeks back...we have a little friend like yours living in it! Love your winnings...so cute.

I'm glad your son is doing well. I just saw the images of the Opryland Hotel (oops-Gaylord) where we have stayed many times...it breaks my heart. So many of our favorite places in Nashville are under water. I really wonder how they will ever recover.

  24. She is such a pretty little bird! I love the first picture with stuff in her mouth. Looks like she has made a really lovely nest for herself! She is just like you!!
