Vintage Goods

5.22.2010

I hope everyone is having a good time this weekend. Not me. I am still  painting. We have gotten a lot done. Should be through this weekend. This Benjamin Moore paint is covering in one coat, thank the lord! The change is not drastic, but looks so much better. I also love the fact that everything will be fresh and clean when I put it all back together. Right now it looks like a tornado went through. Thanks so much for all the sweet comments and the offers to help. I wish I could twitch my nose have you here. It would then be fun!

I want to join in on Debbiedoos's party this weekend with a few things I found on Monday at the flea market.

I have been seeing these vintage jars a lot lately on blogs and in magazines so I bought  one and
filled it with wrapped soaps from Williams Sonoma. These are in my bathroom.

I found this vintage spool with twine. I have seen empty spools from three dollars to twenty dollars. Got this one with the twine for seven dollars.

Picked up another vintage shoe form for ten dollars. I have seen these at all price points, too.

I had already added this roll of jute to my collection from Hobby Lobby. This is my little vignette on
my coffee table in the great room. I just love these pieces I have been collecting together in this old
tray.

I will eventually have time to start hitting some yard sales. We have a graduation to go to this morning and then it is back to painting.

I am linking to Debbiedoos  for garage salen party and Coastal Charm  for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday
Be sure and check these parties out!

Hope the rest of your weekend is good!
Y'all com back now,
KIM

  5. What pretty display of vintage goodness! I really like BM Paint but I haven't tried the new one coat covers kind. I just went in there to buy porch paint and saw it. Good to know it really works!

  10. That is good paint, love it when it covers in one coat! I love your little basket of goodies, I just love little collected treasures. I love the touch of antlers here and there too. And I like the little soaps, very cute! :D

  11. Kim, you find the best things at flea markets. Either I'm not looking in the right places or we just don't have a good one in Canton. Do you find most of your flea markets around Roswell? I'm trying so hard to be more thrifty, but no luck finding a great venue.

  12. Really like you tray vignette. I was out early this morning - had to go see about daughter's dogs and there were yard sales everywhere, but I stayed strong and kept on going. :)

  14. Kim, what great finds! I like the way you've grouped these in the tray. Your little vignette is fresh and interesting. I have one of those small shoe forms tucked away somewhere. I need to find it. You always provide beautiful inspiration. Thank you!

  16. Kim, I also find it sometimes hard finding just the right shade of paint color to us for in my room... I really like the dark tan color. It really does make a difference, doesn't it?

I really like your vignette! You definately found alot of neat items! I've got to get out there and do some yard sailing myself! I haven't gone to any yet this year.. I'm waaay behind here, and really missing out!!

Have a great weekend! You and your hubby are doing a really fantastic job on everything! It all is looking really nice! I can't wait to see your rooms once you're all done painting! I just know they will look beautiful!

    Blessings,
    ~Lynn

  17. I left a pan of hard boiled eggs boiling on the stove, forgot about them, and left the house for four hours. Every wall/ceiling in the house has to be painted, every single item cleaned, to remove the smoke smell. I am looking on the bright side and changing up all my colors to beachy whites and grays.
Anyway, just wanted to say how much we are alike, I would work all night to finish painting rather than to have to keep living in a mess.
    Have a great weekend!

  21. I didn't go to any yard sales this weekend. I haven't been having the best luck at them lately. I could kick myself for getting rid of a shoe form years ago (don't even know where it went), because I'd LOVE to have it now. Happy painting to you. You don't want me there. I am a klutz when it comes to paint.

I love the jar with the soaps in it...I have a few of those old glass jars, but never thought about putting soap in them. Great idea!!
I have several of the spools with the thread...mine are in an old crock and one has been turned into a electric candle. I have it my work studio and I leave it all the time...love the glow it gives to the room.

  31. I have a shoe form like those! Found mine at a yard sale, can't remember when or how much but it had to be cheap because I don't do expensive! $3 would be expensive for me unless it was for both of them>
