Now we have this
instead of this. I know this looked good, too, but it has been this way for a few years and
it was just time to switch things up.
This bedding goes perfectly with the wall color in here
Of course changing the bedding also meant I had to change the accessories.
Everything I used in here except for one thing is stuff I already had.
I have always loved this bed which we bought at Rooms To Go. Didn't want to spend a fortune on
filling the empty rooms the kids left behind. Just wanted it comfortable for guests.
These bird prints flew up here from the powder room.
These were from Home Goods, too in the clearance aisle.
Here is my one new thing that I actually bought before I changed things in here. Thank you
Kat from Low Tide High Style for posting about this lamp from Tarjay of all places. I may
have to spiffy up the lamp shade some time.
I just love the green glass and that No. 5
This lantern moved from my room, too. I filled the bottom with moss from our yard.
We have tons of it. Our whole side yard almost is covered in this now. Grass never would grow there, but this stuff sure will. Anyone need moss? I have seen what they charge for little bags of this in the stores.
Maybe I can sell it to the stores. lol
Place for guests to sit and put their feet up. Wicker chair was given to me by my daughter from her collage
days and is from Pier One. The ottoman is from Home Goods and was a steal. I am thinking about painting
it though. I need to get a bottom cushion for the chair.
Vintage bird magazine holder filled with a variety of magazines to look over.
Up close of the painting on the front.
Nice soft fluffy rug to step on from the bed. It also covers some stains on the carpet that I cannot get out. Found this at Home Goods a couple of years ago for only $5.
The bed skirt is from Ebay and is a queen for $15. The pale yellow light weight blanket is a Ralph Lauren from Home Goods for $30. Sheets and pillow covers are Pottery Barn either from Ebay or on sale. All these things I already had in the house. I love shopping my house. Saves time and money.
Joining Frugal Friday at The Shabby Nest since I did this room by shopping the house.
Nothing new was bought yet I have a whole new look.

I was going to show the sitting room that I have been painting, but I just finished the last coat of paint on the doors and then I need to touch up some of the trim.
I hope everyone has a terrific week!
Y'all come back now,

I love the changes that you have made, Kim! Your bird-themed room is so pretty! And I hadn't seen the No 5 lamp from Target...so cute! Have a great week!...hugs...Debbie
Love the birds and you are so right about having the same colors throughout and being able to make subtle changes here and there.
As for the moss, there is someone here who sells it to the farmer's market. Hmm...maybe that could earn you some more decorating money, LOL.
WOW! That's a gorgeous guest room. Can I come stay? lol
Kim- Did you see my green bedroom, last week? Quite similar. I love green! I may have to copy your moss in the lantern idea.

Hi Kim!
Looks lovely!
That bedding is wonderful!
love,kelee
All the bedding was/is beautiful. Bird decor is classic. I also bought one of the lamps from Target after seeing Kat's post - but for DD2. She loves it. I wonder how many lamps Kat has sold for Target! lol
Dropping by from Met Monday, 18ft island kitchen.

LOVE the bird bedding. i almost got it for our bedding...but i was afraid it would get stained with our dog...and daughter, hehe.
and i love the lamp!
LOVE it!!! You've got such good taste!
Suzanne
You're right, the bedding in the guest room was nice before you changed it up... but I so prefer the bird bedding in this room. It looks fantastic! So fresh and inviting.
Great job!
Victoria @ DesignTies
I love the bird theme. I wish I had seen the duvet before my recent choice of cover. Beautiful room.
Hi Kim!! Oh, our pretty guest room looks beautiful! I do love the bird bed linens! You are so good and I love everything you do! Can I come over? :)
Be a sweetie,

What a fabulous change! I love your bedding and actually I like it both ways! The furniture, the decor and all the little details makes it just wonderful!
Gorgeous Job!

Your guest room looks fabulous! Love all of the special touches.
I love the room, it is all tied together so well! I love that lamp, my husband and I got married on the 5th so it would be great in our room.

Kim, I have never ever had one single room look as great as this in my entire home. You have a talent for making rooms look beautiful and comfy! How I wish I had that talent!
Kristin
Must find a Home Goods store! I love your guest room (partly because I have that same paint color in my living room and I love the way it becomes a natural backdrop for so many other colors.)
Now if I could just get a few kids to move out so I could have some guest rooms :)
That bedding is just gorgeous and looks great in here! Love the paint color too!!
Looks great. I tend to move things around a lot too so, you're right, it helps to have a similar color palette throughout the house. Love that Tarjay lamp...saw it there last week!
Kim, Love the new look in your guest room. It's great that you already had the pictures of birds and accessories that go so well with the bedding.
Take care, Sherry
I don't think you can switch things up enough - you are so good at it!!!
Looks fantastic and I love that No. 5 lamp!!!
Such an inviting guest room. I adore the bird theme and all the sweet vignettes. Especially love the No. 5 lamp!

I change up my bedding and the guest room with the seasons! I do ... really! And I just finished my guest room make over and did a little bird theme too! Birds are always in season!
beautiful guest room...all your guests will be so comfortable!
~Rainey~
What a fabulous room! I love every single detail! The colors are coordinated so lovely with one another. A+++++++ job, love it! ~Liz
Everything in your home always looks great but when you change them they look even better! Not sure how you do it but I enjoy watching!! Now, can't wait to see what you have done with the master!!
Thanks for the kind words. My mom is STILL in the hospital. She does better then has a set back. I have been spending the mornings and evenings there. My brother picks up the afternoon. I am really dragging.
This is a truly wonderful transformation. So creative and clever!
I love the bedroom. It's got a cottage garden look - my favorite. I like the bird duvet best. And that magazine holder is so cute. You've got that room looking so great for your guests. What a lively, happy room. Moss grows on my brick patio in the spring and I love it. But our summers are so dry that it dies back - boohoo.
Can I book in? What a gorgeous guest room!
Wow, two very different looks!
I love the birds, but I have to say both looks are very pretty!
What a beautiful restful room. I know your guests fill right at home.. I know I would.
hugs ~lynne~
Kim, you always have great ideas. The new changes look great. I agree, it's fun to move things about and change things up. You have the touch! ~ Sarah
Hi Kim, I popped in a few days ago and saw your painted dresser from your first post, and came back this morning to ask what color you used on it. I want to do that to the sideboard in the library (I think you mentioned you had the same piece?)
However.
I'm freaking out over that lamp! Target's website says there's one in stock at the store down the street, so I am heading out. Keep your fingers crossed.
I am in the car and on my way to the guest room. I love your birds and even bought a bird quilt from tarjay because you inspired me. Now don't fret if the room is bare when I leave, it'll just give you reason to find something else to fill it(I'm taking all accessories too:)) Great job as always Kim, thanks for being so awesome!
Love to you!
Please book the room for October, I'm coming over!
AS always it looks beautiful!
Hi Kim! Your room looks light and bright for summer! Love that vintage magazine holder!!
Love,
Susan and Bentley

Such a perfectly wonderful and guest-friendly room. Birds can be such a neutral in a room... love the lamp from Tarjay! Are your wall yellow or green... the light seems to change the color. Very pretty!
Di
You did a fabulous job on the guest room. Very inviting and homey. Love it!
Kim, When can I make my reservation? Your guest bedroom is so welcoming and cheery. And the bird coverlett is really stunning in there. You are right~ The walls were meant for this bird inspired bed covering.
I really loved it in your bedroom as well.
Beautiful room, and beautiful post!
Yvonne
Hi Kim, i really love your guest room. It looks so pretty! I really love your new lamp.....Kathy
I loved this bedding in your room and love it in here too, especially w/this wall color. I can see why you like that bed, I love it too! I like how you put the lantern in there and it has the same crisscross pattern that the bed does. Looks great, I love it!
What a wonderful change . . . love the bird bedding. It really sings! (say, do you have an email? I want to ask you something.) cheers, -s
How fun!! I am thinking about changing my bedroom around so all these ideas are wonderful!
Your guest bedroom is simply divine....what lucky guests you have!!! I'm really lovin that lamp from Target...I might have to make a special trip into town to check them out ;o)Your home is so gorgeous...I never tire of seeing what you are up to!!!!!

What a gorgeous room,I love your taste.
The comforter is perfect in this room. Looks like it was made for it. You room turned out fabulous. I would love to be a guest in that room. Thanks for sharing.
The guest room bedding is delicious!!! I love the bird theme!!
And...the picture is on it's way (packed in a pack and play box - sorry, it was the only box I had that was the right size.)
Hopefully, it got there today.

~Hi Kim~
WOW, WOW, WOW!! I know I already commented on this room, but I had another look and all I can say is WOW! This room looks like it could be in a decorating magazine! I love the colors, and the bed print/pillows. I love birdhouse and all the accessorizing you have done. The lantern by the bed adds a rustic charm to the room. The round rug is adorable!
Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment! You are so sweet!
Hugs,
Liz
BOOM! I just saw fireworks this is so fabulous....love it.
Hi Kim...
Well my friend, I just loved this pretty bedding in your master bedroom but must admit that it looks fabulous in your guest room with those pretty green walls! It's perfect, Darlin'!!! I just bought a duvet from PB...I really wanted this one that you have...I just love the sweet birds but I didn't think I could make it work with my colors! Anyway, you did a fabulous job on your guest room redo...I love all of your accessories...soooo pretty, Girlfriend!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful room with us...such a treat!!!
Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design
Kim - What a beautiful room for guests! I think painting the footstool sounds like a great idea. It would add an interesting twist!
I've always admired the bird linens! Great!
Lori
I love the new look...of course I also loved the old look. You did a great job "shopping the house" and pulling it all together so well. It's all beautiful!
Kim I love the new look...but will tell you I also loved it in your bedroom...it's very tropical looking to me...Just beautiful my friend...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Kim, I would love to stay in this pretty guestroom. I'd feel so comfortable surrounded by all of those pretty birds. I am wondering if Target has any of those lamps left. Love that! Everything looks so pretty. laurie
Kim, this room makes me want to be lounging at the beach with all its wonderful tropical colors! I love that you're able to change things from room to room. I like to do that in my house too. Thanks for sharing.
What a warm & welcoming guest room, Kim! I liked it before but I like it even better now. You have some wonderful accessories to move around. You also have more energy than anyone else I know of. LOL
I hope you sprayed that moss before you brought it inside the house. You don't want creepy-crawlers to hatch & be your first guests. Yuck! I warn people all the time about bringing in pine cones without spraying or baking them first. Even one little moth can do lots of damage.
Loved your new silver tray & the shots of Bailey by the pond. BEAUTIFUL photos!
I like the changes. Good to have a different feel in the bedroom but you've done such a lot of work. Wow. Hope you'll stop by and see the China Room. Jane F
The bird duvet made a huge change in the colors of the room and looks fabulous. I love it and all of your accessories are just wonderful. You do have such a fabulous collection of accessories. I would love to stay in this beautiful room. Thanks so much for joining the party. Love the new look. Hugs, Marty
You weren't kidding Kim - the colors on that duvet go perfectly with the wall color. Such a dramatic change. I just love it. And I cannot believe that lamp was from Tarjay! Score!
xoxo,
Kim
I love this room!! I would be having sweet dreams all night!! XXOO, Damaris
This is absolutely lovely - so restful and peaceful.
My oh my, what a sweet guest room! Love the PB duvet. Everything looks so crisp and welcoming. After seeing the No. 5 lamp I made a quick lunch run to Tarjay. Now I'm the proud owner of the same. Can't wait to get home.
Thanks for sharing!

Kim, all of your changes look amazing and I love your colorful wicker chair! That green lamp looks perfect in there...it is one of my favorite finds from Tarjay!
Kat :)
Hi Kim,
OMG...you've had a lot of visitors!! :)
Thanks for linking up to my party!! I appreciate it!! :)
Your bedroom is lovely!! I love how you have the bird theme running throught the entire room. It looks really pulled together!!
Have a great day!
~ Jo
Your guest room is really gorgeous, I love all of the birds around. The new bedding is really beautiful, too.
Hugs, Cindy S

Very nice! My guest room has been on my To Do list for several months now! So much to do!!!
A very happy room. Love all the bird stuff and the spark of added color of that little ole rug!
This room looks really pulled together and certainly doesnlt look frugal, which makes it all the more attractive. Great eye! Following you now thru Frugal Friday. Have a great weekend! Pam @ Sallygoodin
Wow! Can you just move that room to my place? I love it!
Stopping over from Frugal Friday.

Love the colours! It looks really wonderful.

I have been a follower for several months now. I am just catching up on my blog reading and I had about ten posts here to peruse through. I have loved your painted hutch ( with the green back) and your family room and now this guest room. So very pretty. I want to come visit and see more. :)
Pam
Kim I commented on these bird linens the other day...I love them. They are so colorful but yet serene. I planning new decor for hopefully our new move to Florida. These sheets would be great since the house is on a lake. My husband said he would like yellow and green in the bedroom lol (we have white/cream/turquoise right now) so I was at a loss. But those sheets would be a wonderful base and then just add pops of green/yellow. Thanks so much for sharing - Melanie
I loved the room tour! You may have a hard time getting rid of your guests, it is so beautiful! :) Yes -paint the wicker stool, just don't ask me what color!
Coming to this post late... I have the green #5 lamp too! I think we got lucky because Target is no longer carrying them in the store!
I added a target burlap shade from the Home goods isle (not the lamp shade isle). It is burlap with a trim on top and bottom and for $24 it's a perfect compliment!
