My First Guest Post

Kat from Low Tide High Style. has asked me to guest post for her. I was so thrilled when she asked. If you haven't visited Kat's blog before please do you will not be disappointed. She is a wonderful photographer and a free lance writer. She has done some work for some magazines and has recently moved up to the bigger leagues. We can say we knew her when.

If you have popped over here from Kat's blog let me say welcome. My name is Kim and I started blogging the end of January. This is a creative outlet for me since I am always changing and rearranging around here. I tell Mr. Savvy not to sit down in the dark because that chair may not be there. Just kidding. My kids are grown and have left the nest. I have one dog and one cat here now. I am also glad to say I have two granddaughters and another one on the way this fall. I decorate as a hobby and I love to work in my yard. I also have painted several pieces of furniture and I am the painter of the house, too except I let my husband do the real high stuff. In fact I am painting a room right now. Just freshening up a room that needs it. When I'm not painting or rearranging you can find me thrifting, too. I love finding treasures.

Let me show you a couple of my favorite rooms. Let me warn you that I like color.

This is one of our guest rooms that I repainted last year and did what I call a vintage nautical theme.

I say vintage because of the vintage swimsuit I framed from the thirties.
I won it on ebay and framed it myself. I don't know how they wore wool swimsuits.
The walls were a baby blue, but now they are a soft gray.

This is my sunroom. This is where I hang out and watch t.v. if I'm not busy or blogging.
This room gets tons of light and it overlooks our natural pond.

Love my Pottery Barn sofa.

This is my newly redone hutch in my dining room. I painted and glazed the back of it so
my collection of ironstone and silver would pop.

This photo probably shows the green and glaze the best.

This is a chest in the foyer I painted and glazed and was part of my very first post.

This shows the detail.

This is part of my huge yard I take care of.

Maybe one day I will have time to do this.

Well, I need to get back to my painting.
I hope you enjoyed your visit and I sure hope you will come again. There is usually always something being changed around here.

Thanks again to Kat for asking me to guest post.

If you are visiting for the first time I hope you will enter my GIVEAWAY. It is for a $60 gift
certificate to CSN stores. Today is the last day to enter until midnight. I will pick a winner tomorrow morning.

I am your girl! I saw your post on your daughter's wedding. She comes by her beauty very naturally. She is stunning and so are you!

  14. Enjoyed seeing these beautiful spots again. I never tire of seeing well done decorating! Can't wait to see what you've been painting!

  15. I will always love that sunroom best. Perhaps because it reminds me of my "garden room" without the natural light! I'm working on a bit of a "nautical feel" myself right now. Trying to beat the heat!

  16. Beautiful post Kim! And so nice to be featured...I am heading over there now to check what Kat has doing...I do believe I pop over there once in while though.

  17. Every home should have THAT sunroom overlooking a pond.. and PLEASE take the time to spend a bit of nappy time in that hammock. You won't be sorry.

She's a doll, isn't she?! Hope you have a fab weekend and stay cool. Watch out for the creepy crawlies!
