You Have to Try This

6.17.2010

Ladies I went to Costco the other day for the necessities like toilet paper before we resorted to using paper towels that certainly cannot go in the toilet. Of course when you go to a store like Costco or Sam's you don't come home with just one thing. Yep, when you walk through that entrance they've gotcha! Things just seem to show up that you didn't even know you needed.

Then there are the people sitting behind little stands enticing you with little tidbits of tasty samples to try so you will buy those, too. See it is all a great scheme.

Well, I just wanted to share with you this wonderful chunky, loaded with vegetables, chicken salad.

You really must try this stuff. It is wonderful.

It is loaded with vegetables such as artichokes, sundried tomatoes, and roasted yellow peppers. It also has
olives in it. If you don't have any home grown tomatoes (is it a vegetable or a fruit?) you can buy these
Campari tomatoes that are very good. Mr. Savvy and I love for a tomato to be acidic and these are.

Grab a few wheat thins to eat with the tomatoes and chicken salad

and you have a yummy lunch.

Want you join me?

I feel so Victorious and Vivacious eating all these Vegetables in place of my usual PB & J.

I am linking this little scenario to Alphabet Thursday in Miss Jenny's class.
I don't want to get a "F" for not having my assignment.
Well, I better run to class and get this assignment turned in before I'm late.

Y'all come back now,

KIM

  2. LOL! You are so right about them "getting you" as soon as you go into a Costco or Sam's! LOL! But, boy, I must love to be "gotten" because we sure have fun sampling and bringing home things we did not go to get! LOL! That salad sounds delicious... except the ONLY food I do not like is olives. Go figure.

  12. Oooh someone has been playing with her blog layout. Looks good. Thanks for the Chicken salad tip. I'm always reluctant to try new things at Costco unless I know that I like it b/c you end up with a year's supply.
BTW, that guy does have a link to my blog. Not sure how I feel about this.

  17. Just so happens I am making a Costco run today. I will keep a look out for this. Thanks for the update, I am always looking for something quick to have for my lunch after running errands and Costco shopping. I hate the idea of fast food burger etc...this gives a new spin on fast food.

Almost like having lunch at bistro..at home!

  20. Kim, this is so funny because every time I come to Atlanta to visit my folks we end up at Costco to shop and sample! And the very best news is we are getting a costco here in Chattanooga! They broke ground a few months ago and I cannot wait!

  25. Yeah, I know what you mean about walking into Sam's or Costco... I belong to both and ALWAYS leave with way more than was on my list. By the way, thanks for stopping by my blog. I really appreciated it!

P.S. In response to your query, I believe a tomato is technically a fruit as it has seeds... I could be wrong, though. :)

  26. I love Coscto but you are right...you sure walk out with a lot more....but it's all so good. That certainly looks great....I am betting though the fat content is pretty high...but you have the tomatoes to balance it out:)

  29. So I just found you through another blog (5 minutes for me) and this is just a lovely blog I must say, except now I'm hungry...must go to Costco:)
I'm going to become a follower on your site and I'd like to extend the invitation to become one on mine as well, although a heads up, it doesn't really look like this one does. I'm new to the blog world so I haven't figured everything out yet.

  30. Thanks for the tip..it looks yummy,,,just the lunch for a hot Summer day.
I haven't seen it at Costco.. which is unusual as I usually sample anything that looks like a dip or salad. Headed there tomorrow.. Thanks.

  34. That looks and sounds so yummy! I think a trip to Costco is in order for this weekend. And yes, that place is dangerous! I got the two sitting chairs in our basement from there and I love those things! They even came with super cute pillows. Went in for frozen chicken, came out with new furniture. Gotta love Costco! :)

  35. Thanks Kim! I'm not going to Costco till next week, but I think just from knowing the ingredients, I can create it on my own. Looks like I have everything on their list. Thanks for sharing what you are loving!

  41. I hear ya, Kim! Costco has made a hole in my wallet several times. That looks good though! I recently bought a pancake mix because I was suckered into buying by the very same cart ladies. I was going to blog about it because it was a healthy mix and my Sun Kissed Boys loved it but we ate it before I had a chance to!!! :)

  46. Hi Kim!

Thank you for a delicious stop on Alphabe-Thursday's Letter "V"!

    That salad does look delicious!

I try to go as little as possible to Costco but now I suspect I will need to make a trip sooner rather than later. All the ingredients sound scrumptious.

    Thank you for linking up!
