Cheery, Bright, Sunny, Warm Yellow

8.11.2010

This week in Miss Jenny's summer school class it is time for the color yellow. Yellow is such a cheery and warm color. I was not a huge fan of yellow a few years ago. You probably would have had a hard time finding much of it in my house, but over the last year a lot of yellow has crept into my house.

This is probably my favorite yellow piece in the house. My new table and chairs with it's chippy yellow goodness.

A major color change took place in this room last year. This room was dark blue for over thirteen years. See I am a huge fan of navy blue. Always have been for some reason. When we built this house I painted these walls dark blue and loved it that way for a long time. Then I needed it changed and brightened up. So now it is this bright sunny yellow. It just makes me feel good to be in this room. Mr. Savvy did not want me to change this room, but he loves it too.

Now just sit back and enjoy some more yellows found in my house.

Miss Bailey, what are you doing in the picture?

Bailey's very loud squeaky chicken

Big furry soft rug from Home Goods for only $4.

Rusty and the rug are yellow.

t.v. cabinet I refinished this year

Love my Dyson. This gets used almost daily around here.

Thanks for visiting. You are welcome back any time.

Miss Jenny, I am so sorry I missed class last week, but there just isn't any orange around here.

Linking to Jenny Matlock for summer school yellow party.

Y'all come back now,

KIM

  11. I love your yellow table and chairs...well...and all the rest of your yellow pieces too. However...that CAT? Definitely GOLD! Yes..yes..I know...gold is on the yellow chart...but he is definitely NOT yellow! lol Just teasing you a bit!

I never had yellow before either...and this last year I have filtered a bit into the house here and there. And I saw some yellow flowers for the porch that I just had to have this Spring. And, 2 yellow (with roses) pillows for the front porch swing. I like the "happy" lift it gives to my days.

Thanks for the day brightener- Diana

All your shades blend together so beautifully. I've been afraid of color for so long...I'm an ivory/beige/gold kinda girl, but I'm starting to branch out a wee bit.
