New Pillow and a New Vignette

Happy Friday everyone. Thank you so much for all the comments about my sideboard that I glazed. Glazing has really become quite an addiction. I wish I could just devote all my time to that, but that is not the case. I do have a couple of projects in the works though that I will share soon. For now I want to show you my new pillow that came in this week.

I just love it. I ordered it from One Kings Lane which sells designer things at a fraction of the cost.

This is a pillow by Petit Coterie, but cost a lot less through One Kings Lane.

It even came with the down insert. Now it is on my favorite bench.

Here is a new vignette I created on my newly glazed sideboard.

I took one of my old white ironstone bowls and filled it with a potted fern and covered it with moss.

Added this figurine to a stack of very old leather books.

Love the patina of old leather books.

Still love my new Santos that I was lucky enough to find for $39 at Home Goods.

Brought this lamp from my master bedroom to here. Replaced the shade with this one, but it may be too short. What do you think?

Post edit: I changed the harp on the lamp to a shorter one and now it looks much better. Thanks
Kathysue for the suggestion. The new photo is dark because it is hopefully getting ready to rain.

  1. Okay Kim-Here's the truth...that sideboard looks awful in your home. So awful in fact that I think you should send it to me;>) I will be most happy to pay freight just to take that darned old thing off your hands....yeh...and that bench? We might as well make a truck full while we're at it...and oh-the pillow-loving that too. While I'm at it-aren't you awfully tired of that ROOSTER collection by now?
And Santos? Well, Santos is saying...I wanna go visit NanaDiana--

Loving it all more and more! Diana

  2. Love the new vignette Kim. I do love the shade on the lamp, but will it bother YOU with the mechanics partly showing? I think the tassel distracts your eye from it :)

  3. Dearest Kim,

Great images with beautiful things; adorable pillows on your favorite bench! By the way, I LOVE your feisty looking doggy... such beautiful, almost human eyes!
The lamp, yeah, I had to redo a shade before for the same reason too. You will find another lamp foot for this one and it will look better with a taller one.

Have a great weekend - with sun!

  6. Kim love the pillow, I am waiting for my order from One Kings Lane, I think the sconces should be here by Wednesday, Yippee!!
Love the new vignette, I am coveting your Santos!! Lamp shade is not covering the bottom of the harp so maybe a shorter harp might make a difference, I love the shape on that lamp, Kathysue

  11. Great vignette!! Love the new pillows. They look great on your bench! I have learned a lot about lamps lately since it seems I am obsessed with them. The harp was a great fix. I have some 8 and 10 harps and found it just depends on the size of the lamp shade.

    Looks great as always!

  13. Everything looks so nice, Kim. I love the shape of the lamp shade. The Santos, of course is a great find and you are just so good in refinishing furniture. Love the pillow. I have to check out that store! I need to find some bargains cause I just rented a room inside a store downtown to try to sell anything. I love to shop so I might as well make money out of it, lol....Christine

  27. Kim, I backtracked and read how you glazed your beautiful buffet table. WOW! I love the finished look and the beautiful way you decorated the top. This looks like a very expensive, designer piece. You really should do this for a living! It is the prettiest piece I've seen in a long, long time!
    Thanks for sharing your technique.

  35. Oh Kim, when I saw that bench in the thumbnail photo on my blog, I knew I was going to fall in love with it, and I wasn't wrong! It's wonderful! Is it a reproduction piece, or is it vintage - whatever it is, I am in LOVE with it! Your pillow is so pretty. I missed that on One King's Lane (love browing their treasures). Your sideboard looks fab too. I've been wanting a Santos, but they are always sooo expensive - what a deal you got! You have great design style, and I love seeing what you're doing. So glad you linked this to Favorite Things Sat. Have a great weekend. laurie

  40. I really like the idea of the plant in the covered dish...everything really came together. Since I'm reading backwards...I do like the scalloped lampshade better on the lamp. It is always fun to read your posts!
