Perfect Timing

8.09.2010

A couple of months ago I was the winner of a gift certificate for a flea market in the Atlanta area that I won from Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. So yesterday my daughter and I went to the flea market and we were just looking through the booths and my daughter spied this little table for her nursery. It was the right size and the same pink color that I painted the changing table. You can see that here if you missed it. It just  needed a little extra work on it to make it perfect or rather not perfect. It was just perfect timing that we chose now to go to that flea market. My daughter bought the table and I used my gift certificate for something else that I will show later.

This is a Pottery Barn Kids table. My daughter loves PB Kids and is registered there for shower gifts.

The price was only $39. My daughter and I both agreed it was perfect for the nursery.

So home with me it came and I sanded it lightly and started glazing it.

I did not like how much glaze was on the top of it so I sanded some back off.

Much better.

Oh, Rusty you have perfect timing.

Here we will get a close up without Rusty in the pic.

Now they can come pick it up and it is ready for the nursery. Slowly it is coming together. She still needs a lamp for this table. It will be placed next to the chair she ordered yesterday. It will take around fourteen weeks to come in which will be after the baby. The chair is done in a dark brown chenille and is so soft and comfy. I hope it comes earlier than they said. Still on the hunt for a chandelier that doesn't cost a fortune.
Then we need to make some art for the room and it should be finished.

I hope everyone has a terrific week.

Y'all come back now,

  52. Kim, This little table was adorable before, but after it became a seriously fun and noticable piece of furniture art!
What kind of glaze did you use. I love the results. I have a table that would look great with that treatment!
    Kudos to you.

  53. Thanks Yvonne. I used two glazes mixed together for that piece because my main glaze was almost gone. I usually use Valspar glaze from Lowes that comes in a ready made bottle and I love the Mocha one. The other glaze I mixed with it this time is a metallic glaze by DecorArt called Elegant Finish metallic glaze and I used Renaissance Brown. I am loving this metallic that adds a little sheen. I have actually added to a chest that did not have enough glaze on it and will show that one soon.
