Some More Deals

8.07.2010

I went to a flea market/antique mall this week and found a couple of things for my dining room hutch.

Found this really pretty J &.G. Meakin plate for $4.00.

Got this pretty silver serving spoon for $5.00

I believe those are lemons. I just loved the detail of this one.

Here they are in my hutch.

Then I found this pretty bowl with the blue roses.

I still love cobalt blue even though I don't have a lot of it in my house. My dining room used to be dark blue.

  1. I like them very much! I am a sucker for blue and white china! Great deals. I haven't found any deals lately. It has been 2 weeks since I have joined in to Debbie's party! Oh well.

I am going today to see if a small dresser is still at the thrift store so maybe I will have that to post!!

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Love your gorgeous blue and white china! I found a couple blue and white china plates the other day from GW.. I hope to find more of the same china pattern design to add to them.. The rose pattern on yours is so beautiful! I have more of the blue daisy pattern on both of mine.. I'll have to keep my eyes open and hopefully will be able to find some more pieces to add to them! I'd love to have a few of them displayed on my diningroom wall.. on the plan of what the Olive Garden restaurant has displayed on their walls.. Looks so attractive!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Blessings,
    ~Lynn

  6. Love your finds. I don't have a lot of cobalt blue anymore either-although I had tons of it for years. That "fancy" kind of passed for me-although I love to see it in other's homes. And I did keep a few pieces.

Wish I were going to a flea market today...instead I am stuck at work. However, Saturdays are slow enough that I can "play" on the computer a bit. Yeaaaa! Hope you have a fun day-and pictures of your "finds" are a must. Diana

  24. Well, Kim, I finally made it over to the Queen of Hearts on Friday! Oh my goodness...I had no idea it would be so big. Should've taken a snack with me(ha,ha). Anyhoo, I bought two plates and a bowl. I am changing out the pottery in my hutch for creamware. Seeing all the beautiful collections in blogland gave me the fever to do the same in my house. I am also in the process of painting my kitchen cabinets thanks to all the wonderful bloggers out there who inspired me. I might just have to start my own blog after this. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful tips!

  29. Kim, we have this running joke in our house about my sil always asking her folks for stuff when they die(they are in their 50's), but I decided to finally be tacky enough to do it. Kim, when you die, can I have a few items from your house? LOL. Oh, that serving spoon might be the best of your finds(in my opinion!). Thank you for having a great eye and always sharing what you found with it.
    Love ya-ERin
