Adding Fall To My Daughter's House

10.24.2010

Since I am staying at my daughter's a few days, to help them out after the early arrival of the baby, I  thought I would help add some fall decor since she has not gotten around to it. Everything I used she already had. I just had to go dig it out of her storage closet.
I will show you the before and after.
We are having such a glorious fall day. Now, if I could get out and enjoy it.
That's o.k. Leila love is much better.

This is a shot of her house from the end of the driveway.
Mr. Savvy and I helped them build their home.  I bet you can guess what I did.

I love her house. They just need to do some yard work which neither one of them likes to do.
Brooke did a great job of picking out all the colors.

This is walking up the sidewalk. She has a nice bricked front porch.
This is how the porch looked before I added to it.

Still has roses blooming now and doesn't even do anything to them.

Eric decided he needed to get outside and wash cars. Hey, Eric mine is next right there beside you.

This is one of two garage doors. I painted those, too all by myself.

I found her wreath she had stored away. She purchased this from Williams Sonoma last year when it went on sale.

I love how it is so full and natural.

She has this wonderful black iron wreath hook. If she finds these gone tell her I didn't
take them.

She had these three twig pumpkins, too. I didn't even know she had all these nice things.
The pumpkins were purchased last year on sale from Crate & Barrel.

I just felt like there needed to be that pop of color added that you get from a nice large pumpkin.
I picked this one of at the grocery store down the street.

Now it looks more like fall out here.

Much better.

Joining Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch.

Thanks so much for stopping by again. I hope to get back to what ever normal is soon.
Staying here one more day and then will come back for visits.

Hope your week goes well.

Y'all come back now,

KIM

  5. What a lovely house! You did a nice job of sprucing it up for Fall. It's a fine line we walk, as Moms, isn't it? Trying to be helpful without being OVERLY helpful...wishing they did this or that~like we would...but keeping our mouths shut cuz it's not our call to make. Oh...I get it-as a Mom/Gramma you know I get it!

Have fun loving on that baby Leila. I just got the call to see if the 3 girls could spend the night so Mom & Dad can go to the Packer game. We gave our other set of tickets to her brother and wife...so they know we are gonna be home. Sucker that I am-I suppose they will be here long before dinner time. Don't you LOVE being a Grammy? Smiles- Diana

  7. I hope Brooke knows how lucky she is to have such a caring mom! Not only are you helping her with the baby and things around the house that need to be done, but ALSO beautifying it too! That is such a sweet thing to do. I know when you're pregnant your baby takes priority of things around the house so your extra touch for the holidays should make her smile. I think her house looks so pretty! I know that Brooke and Eric (and Leila) will be sad to see you go once they've gotten used to all your help.

  13. What a gorgeous house. I love how charming it is. I'm sure you are enjoying your precious new bundle of joy! I have a question about your daughter's front door. Does she have a curtain behind it or a shade? I am still trying to figure out what to do with my front door. Thanks!!

  21. What a lovely home for your daughter..AND.. I'm just like you... when I see a space that "needs something" I immediately start putting it together...or have an itch to, anyway. I've been told I can make a place look like it's been lived in for a long time in just a week. :-) That's a good thing if you ask me.

I used to go over and decorate my daughter's house (after she asked me to) for all the holidays. Now, they ahve a PUPPY and decorating anything would be a big waste of time;):) They don't even think they will be able to put their Christmas tree up:(:( Hopefully next year things will be better. Now go kiss that gorgeous new baby!!!!! XO, Pinky
