It was a gorgeous day here today folks. A little warmer than I like especially after the cool snap the past few days. Oh, well cool weather will return once again soon. Today I decided to take a break from painting
everything in site to go to an antique store that my daughter and I went to last Saturday. When we went last week it was only an hour before they closed and I didn't have time to look at everything. We almost got locked up in the place, too. We were walking up from the bottom level to the main level when all of a sudden the music quit playing and the lights were being turned off. Then the lady saw us and she said she didn't know we were even in there. That would have been great if Brooke and I had been locked up in there. They are closed on Sundays. Of course we could have used our cell phones to call for help, but in days gone by we would have been locked in there. That would have been something if Brooke had gone in to labor while locked in there. Good thing none of that happened. They told us that one time they did lock a lady in there. Looks like they would learn to check to see if everyone is gone.
Anyway when I went back today there were literally hundreds of people in the area for a fall festival that I didn't know was taking place today. It took me quite a while to find a place to park. I found the perfect space right in front of the door to the city police department.
This is Old Town Lilburn. Over the years everything has grown up around it. This little strip is left with just a couple of shops and a cute little cafe/bakery and a park across the street.
This old building has been converted into an antique store and it is chock full of goodies.
It's called Antiques in Old Town.
This is a closer look of the front entrance. I don't know who this man is sitting here, but his wife is probably inside shopping.
There were a lot of booths and tons of stuff.
Love this old drop leaf table.
Now this is the last shot I was able to get inside because my batteries died and I did not have any extras. I am a bad blogger! Note to self bring extra batteries.
I brought home a few things and look how cute the bag is.
It had this cute vintage looking tag and a ribbon in fall colors.
You will have to wait to see the goods.
I will show this since it wouldn't fit in the bag. This will be getting a new look and will be all shabbyfied. Is that a word? It's a huge magazine holder and is solid wood. Got a good deal at $10.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and get away for a little antiquing or junking.
Y'all come back now,
