Easy Peasy Change

10.10.2010

Hello everyone. I sure hope your weekend was good. Mine was great except for dealing with a sinus headache, but some Advil and sinus meds took care of that. It certainly didn't stop me from painting some things. I showed you a before of my pot rack in the last post and told you that I changed it. Nothing mind boggling here. I just PAINTED it! Imagine that if you can. He he!

Here is the before again.

Yep, it is now red. That's all. I love the way it stands out more now and matches the drapes.

Nice bright shiny red. Now let me show you what is hanging from it.

This is my big vintage copper pot that was on the shelf of the rack, but it blocks too much light so I decided to hang it along with my copper chicken.

This is my Artisan bread board from Williams Sonoma and a string of corn.

This small copper pot was purchased at Williams Sonoma outlet several years ago for
just seven dollars. Cha ching!

This red colander is probably used more than anything.

This is my rooster cutting board that I have had many years and he is just for looks. I have other boards that are used.

I raised it up higher than it was and now I need to get Mr. Savvy to cut the extra chain.

My everyday pot and pans that is if I cook are Anolon Advanced non stick and I love them.

Thanks for taking a look and I am linking to Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch and to Debbie's before and after party at Debbiedoos
Be sure to stop in and take a look at the other before and afters.

Have a great week and y'all come back now!

KIM

  8. The red in the drapes really sets off the new color of your rack. Way to think outside the box, I would have never thought to paint it. DUH!

I love that chicken pot, it is beautiful, actually everything you have hanging on your rack fits well with your "general use" pots and pans. Thanks so much for sharing, this is a great makeover.

Debby wasn't talking about a stud where the pot rack is hanging from she meant a stud to help you get those heavy pots down off that rack! LOL! Sorry, I just couldn't help myself! LOL! You have lot's of prettys on that rack too, love the copper!

I just got a nasty upper respiratory something or another... and feel pretty crusty myself.
Might be a good week to just rest a little for the both of us!

  14. It's all in the details, and you pay attention to the DETAILS! Love it. So French Country. I've always loved pot racks, but do not have one. Maybe someday! I do hope you are feeling better. Painting is a cure all for everything. At least, that's what I think. It's total therapy for me.

  15. I love how it stands out now...and says "here I am". I just did the same thing with my salt and pepper shaker and my rooster 2 tier plate stand. I used Krylon Glass Spray in Banner Red color... love, love, love it. And since Kmart is selling Country Living items, I also picked up a spoon rest in the same color that matches perfect. My pot rack is black... now I am thinking... maybe I will spray it too.... hmmm.... will give it some thought. Thank you for the inspriration.

  20. Kim, Love the red, looks wonderful in your kitchen! Mine was the best thing I ever put in my kitchen. I have been able to put most of my copper cookware on it, and the best part is it looks soooo much better than the ceiling fan the other owners of the house had over the island. Thanks for sharing.

  43. Hi Kim--Love the change to red...I have a pot rack very similar to yours that was made by inmates. Go figure...we live at Ft. Leavenworth. :-) When we built our home in TN. we made sure the builder kept out pot rack in mind when designing the kitchen. I don't have it hanging here at this home. I'd love to see a picture of the entire kitchen with the pot rack. Please? I love your style!
