Christmas Dining 2009

11.17.2010

Since I didn't have a blog during the holidays of 2009 I thought I would share some pictures of my table last year that I dug out of my saved photos. I actually had two tables done. The dining room and breakfast room tables. This is the dining room tablescape. I know it's early for a Christmas table, but maybe it will inspire someone.
I have seen a lot of Christmas decorating going on already. I wait till after Thanksgiving to start.

Our family gets together on Christmas Eve and we take turns hosting this dinner. Last year was my turn for it.

It's fun looking back and seeing how things have even changed in the room since then. My hutch is certainly different now. The pictures on the sides are in the breakfast room now and sconces took their place as I shared in a previous post.

  4. Kim, It's hard to believe that you have not been blogging a year yet? WOW! I love this table. The crystals or diamonds scattered about look so pretty. And the repeated elements of the wreath on the backs of the chairs and as napkin rings looks gorgeous and festive. I would have loved to be one of your guest at that table.
I'm with you... I don't decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving.

  14. Beautiful table, KIm. I like the crystals scattered down the table. Great idea for a simple centerpiece.
Looking at the photos really does show what a difference painting the hutch made. You made a good decision. It painted hutch really stands out now.

  29. Kim, your table is just beautiful. I like that you didn't use a tablecloth; but, instead, used the placemats & chargers. I'm thinking about that option for my Thanksgiving table. It gives it a very welcome, less fussy feel. Now I see, after looking at yours, that it can still be very lovely.

  40. Your blog is so beautiful, in fact it is one of my very favorites. I love your style, and I even have a few pictures of your breakfast table saved in my picture file for the inspiration. I could just move your stuff right into my house. Totally my style. Love your Christmas table. I also wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas. 41. You have put your tabletop together so well. The china is very elegant -- can't believe you bought it at Target! Guess in this case, it really IS Tar-shjay!

  42. Once again, we are guilty of having the same stuff.... LOL I have the same china from Target. Bought a set for 12 for 75% off the day after Christmas. Not a bad buy, huh? Love your table setting. I'll have to borrow your idea of spreading "jewels" on the tablecloth; it looks cool.

  44. This is just gorgeous, Kim. We have 25 for dinner so I'm always doing a buffet. Never get to bring out the china. I'd take two weeks just to wash it all and put away! lol So, I'll concentrate on the rest of the house and drool over your table. Take care and in case I don't talk with you before then...Happy Thanksgiving!
