This Goes Here and That Goes There

11.08.2010

Well, as usual one change leads to another. I purchased two brass sconces originally to use in my sitting room. Then when they arrived and I saw how ginormous they were plans shifted in a different direction. The only place to use the sconces was in the dining room which lead to the removal of two expensive pictures. Those pictures had to go somewhere or Mr. Savvy would have a spell since he remembers paying for them.

I just love the whimsical faces of these characters.

These are two signed and numbered lithographs of two calender months by Rodo Boulanger. We purchased November and February. They only had a few of the months and I liked these two best. The November one was perfect in the dining room since it shows Thanksgiving and the February one represents the month of our anniversary.

The breakfast room wall has now changed again from this........

.......to this. I wanted to use these where they could be enjoyed and I am running out of wall space.

I may paint the frames darker.

This is a close up of the February print.

Got two solid brass sconces for only $37.00 at 70% off.

Some of you mentioned that you saw the new sconces in a previous post. I am looking for some nice candles to go in them.

So that is where I switched this to there to that.  I know you know what I am talking about.
Oh, and the other prints that were in the breakfast room have found a new spot, too.

Joining Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch.

I hope you have a great week!

Y'all come back now,

KIM

  3. Kim-Those prints are hysterical. I love whimsical art and these are great! Love the look on the face of the one playing the drum. They actually look really good in your breakfast room. Uhmm..I just realized that I think I have the lamp that matches your breakfast room chandy. I had the chandy too and left it in the house we sold....but kept the lamp because I loved it. Those aren't the shades that were on it though?

I am so pressed for wall space in this house. We put in as many windows as we could (one because we live on the water and wanted to take as much advantage as we could of the view and TWO because we had a window business and it was cheaper for us to put in windows than build walls- HAHA). However, because we did that I don't have much art space at all. I gave some of my wall items to the kids but kept any originals, etc. for myself. I still have a couple of art pieces stored that I didn't want to part with yet. Who knows when they will be used again?

    Great post~ Diana

  12. Well, we wouldn't want him to have a spell, now would we? They seem to forget so much, but not what they paid for something. It's beautiful, Kim! Love the glass in those hutch doors.

  19. Love the Rodo Boulanger's prints! Friends of my family have quite a few of his original artwork pieces throughout their home ... they are beautiful and so unique! I do agree with you about maybe painting the frames a bit darker to compliment your clock (which you know I love), as well as the bold colors in the prints. Your new wall grouping looks fab in your *go-jus* kitchen! *Becca*

  34. When this process happens here, we refer to it as a big snowball. This goes here, that goes there, and soon there's stuff everywhere. Where are the former kitchen prints now?
