The New Chandy and Boring to Better Party 6

Thanks so much for all of you who joined my party last week. 114 wow! Since it was mostly Christmas decor I just couldn't pick certain ones to feature because everyone's Christmas decorations are special. When I get more before and afters I will do a feature post.
All Christmas posts are still welcome all month!!

Now on to this week's party. Several weeks ago I asked for some help making a decision on a new light fixture for my sitting room.

This is what I was dealing with before. Yuck, the outdated ceiling fan.

And here is the new one taken last night. I did not pick any of the ones I had posted about.

I kept looking and found this one and I knew it was the one. Well, maybe not just like that. I always second guess my decisions, but this is one I am happy with. The price of less than $300 made it right, too. Merry Christmas to me!

Here is a closer look. Oil rubbed bronze, even though the site did not call it that, and nine lights.

Here it is with the lights off.

Here is an outside look.

The good thing is this is hung much lower and I can get on a ladder and dust it when needed.

I know a lot of people don't like shades on a chandy, but these came with this one and so far I like them on better than off. Who knows I may try them off later.

Now it's time for you to show me whatcha got!

Please post your intended post and not your whole blog.
Please please add my link or button to your post so others can find the party and join in if wanted.
Try to take time to visit some of the other party goers.
Please become a follower if you haven't already.

All Christmas decor posts are still welcome this month.

Linking to Alphabet Thursday at Jenny Matlock for the letter L for Light fixture. Been a while since I linked to Miss Jenny's party!

Don't miss my $80 csn GIVEAWAY. I will announce the winner Friday!!

Now have fun!

Many thanks Kim....seriously.

akarudd, my husband leaned a very tall ladder against the slope of the ceiling. He did it all. I just watched.

Kim, Beautiful choice. This would have been my favorite. The price is right, the style is gorgeous and the proportion is perfection. You must be thrilled. And how lovely that it makes it's debut in your beautifully decorated room, casting a soft light on your more-than-beautiful tree!
I did join you! Now I am off to see the other participants!
Thanks for the invite and for hosting!

I know I say "love" a lot, but ... well ... I LOVE it !! I'm so glad you went with the layered chandie. It fills that space up beautifully! I know you must be thrilled! And, trust me ... nothing in your house could ever be "boring" (you might have to rename your linky party), which I plan on joining in just a minute! Thanks so much for hosting ... I look forward to being inspired by everyone. Happy Holidays, Becca

It really is a great choice, Kim. Another virus has hit my computer so no posting of pics for me :(. Ordered an ereader with wifi and sd card reader. It will fit in my purse. I will see how it works out.

Mandy Lou said...

Kim, it's simple yet elegant. Commands attention but is easy on the eyes. I like the shades and bear in mind that they help push the light downwards towards the room where it is needed. I love that you have hung it lower too. Very cool. Expensive looking too!!!

Hi Kim!
I love your chandelier, it's perfect. And yes, I like the shades. I sometimes take mine off just for a different look.

If you open a booth it would be nice to have a friend or someone you know to mentor you. It is lots of fun but it can also consume you as well. Good luck on your decision.

I love the shades on the chandy. It's gorgeous. I think most chandys look a bit naked without a shade. Thanks for hosting the party this week. I know how busy you and everyone is during this time of year so I appreciate all you are doing.

I love your new chandelier! It really enhances the room. I think you made a great choice. I like the shades on it because it fits the room with it's library feel. It makes for softer lighting. I don't think it would work as nicely without the shades. I know you're enjoying it at the holidays.

Thanks for reminding me about your party. There are so many on the web, it's hard to keep up with them. I always love your home and everyone has such lovely things this time. Well, all the time, but you know what I mean.

I like the shades on your chandy. If it was dripping with crystals, I don't always think the shades work, but I think this one was meant to have them.

Jamie said...

I love the way the chandy looks from outside, such a homey feel to it. It is fabulous! Amazing what a difference changing the lighting does to a room, isn't it?

Nancy said...

Definitely looks spectacular and made a big difference. I need to update ceiling fans too, but I do like them...especially in the summer. LOVE the oil rubbed bronze finish. Love the antlers over the sofa too!

I think that chandelier would be mad to be called a light fixture - ha!

Definitely way more grand than that!

What a neat linky party. If I had any decor going on other than clutter I would totally link up with you.

Instead I'll just say...lovely as always.

Thanks for linking to Alpahbe-Thursday.
