Your Room is Ready

12.20.2010

Since the other guest room is all booked up I do have another one you may want to stay in. I have it all ready for Christmas guests.

I was at Home Goods a few weeks ago and found the perfect sheets for the Christmas colors in here. I went on the search for green gingham or plaid sheets and low and behold if I didn't find the perfect ones. They are Ralph Lauren sheets, too. The whole set for $39! Yipee!

Don't you just love when things work out like that?

I added these Pottery Barn red quilted pillows that my daughter gave me and the burlap pillow that was in the master bedroom.

I even added a tiny Christmas tree for you to enjoy.

I added burlap ribbon, birds, and some tiny ornaments.

Added a variety of ornaments to the bird dish just for some added Christmas cheer.

Plenty of lamps for soft lighting instead of harsh overhead lighting. Of course you can use that if you like. Personally I prefer lamp light.

Some vignettes are here and there.

A knit stocking hanging from the crib.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that you will be sharing this room with a two year old.
Don't worry she sleeps all night.

I even found the perfect crib sheet. Look at those green and brown polka dots.

This bedroom is ensuite (that's just a fancy word for it has it's own bathroom) and there is some reading material supplied.

There is this antique chair you can sit on to put your shoes on.

I think that just about covers everything. Just let me know when you will be coming.

Joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday.

I have a ton of stuff to get done this week which I am sure most of you do to.
The grands will be here Thursday!

Have a great week!

  7. Beautiful! I have always said I was going to do that - have holiday linens. My guest room that gets used on Christmas Eve used to have red and green pillows and a red comforter, but it has switched to taupe and black now.

Pencil me in for Dec. 27th. Will you pick me up at the airport too, or do I need to rent a car. I can't wait to snuggle into that lovely room!

  25. I love your taste in linens in both guest rooms! Honestly, I love your taste in every room! Also I would love to know if the "bird" duvet and pillows are available to purchase, or were they custom, and, if so, do you know the fabric maker and would you mind sharing? My mom would "chirp with glee" if I could find that for her! Thanks!

  62. Just so others will know, I do answer questions directly when there is an email address there. For others who may want to know, the bed was purchased over ten years ago at Rooms to Go and the bird lamp was bought at a shop going out of business a few years ago.

Thanks so much for all your comments!

  63. The room looks wonderful! Good for you--what an inviting space for guests!

I had such fun when earlier in the fall I had two guests spending the night--a man and a woman, both dear freinds, who were not together. I said, "I have one bed and bath en suite and one bedroom that shares a bath with my son." The man (who is highly educated and British) said to the woman, "Why don't you take the en suite and I'll take the other room." I just loved hearing someone refer to my guest room as an en suite! So sophisticated to use the term as a noun rather than as an adjective! :)
