My Top Posts

I have noticed several bloggers listing there top blog posts of the year and thought I would take a look at mine and see which ones y'all liked the best according to the numbers. If you want to see the posts in full just click on the highlighted links.

Seems that my favorite room is most of yours, too. The first time I posted my sun room was on April 7.

Of course this room has gone through some changes since the first post. This was when I got the new slipcover. I do like the warmer color during this time of year. I also painted the shutter screen red and painted the t.v. cabinet yellow.

Another favorite was when I showed you the kitchen for the first time in May.

View of the other side.

I hate showing this again so soon, but the vintage nautical room comes up as one of your favs.

This was certainly one of your favorites and mine, too. Professional photos of our newest granddaughter.

I was surprised that a couple of my furniture makeovers rated so high with you. You can view this sofa table change here.

The number one post is the vintage dressing table that I refinished for Leila's nursery.
If you want to see it in the nursery you can view it here.

This has been a fun year of blogging and I did not know when I started how blogging would inspire a new love of furniture refinishing. I have some more pieces to work on in 2011 plus some rooms that need to be repainted. I am mostly thankful for the new friendships that have been made here. I will say that blogging does take a lot of time and I may have to not post everyday if I can refrain. I really don't think I have enough for daily posts anyway. This is just so darn addictive!!

Happy New Year to all of you!!!!!!

Looking forward to 2011,

KIM

Tablescapes of 2010

This time of year tends to make us reflect on the past year. I know it sure has flown by. I didn't start blogging until the end of January and I don't do a lot of tablescapes like some of you, but here are some photos of some of my favorites.

If you would like to see any of the posts in full just click on the link. Thanks so much for stopping by and reviewing these again.

Room Redesigns of 2010

Layla at The Lettered Cottage is having a linky party for us to share some room re dos from this year. Any of you who follow my blog know I did make some changes in several rooms this year and thought I would just share some highlights.

This was the reveal of the breakfast room makeover. I always get asked how I refinished this table and chairs, but I purchased them this way.

This is the before. The new look is so much better. Yes? We used this table and chairs for over twenty five years.

One of the guest rooms went from this to

to this with just a few bedding changes and the new drop cloth panels I made that don't show well in this photo

to this for the holidays.

This guest room went from this

to this new look that I call vintage nautical because of the framed vintage swimsuit that Mr. Savvy and I did ourselves.

And then for Christmas guests it looked like this.

The master has gone through a few changes. From this

to this and then a couple more furniture changes to

the latest version at the holidays.

I won't bore you to death with anymore. You can click on the links if you would like to see the full posts. Of course there are plans for a few more changes in 2011.

Thanks so much to all of you who joined my 2010 projects party. It is still open till the end of the week if you would like to join here.

You can find me over at The Lettered Cottage for the room re dos party.

BTB Party #8 Show Me Your Best of 2010

Hi everyone. This week we are going to share our best or favorite projects or makeovers of the last year. Some of you have done quite a few projects and I hope you will share your favorites. If you want to share more than one just combine them in a post and link it up. I will be the first to admit that since I started  blogging I have probably done a few more projects than I would have if I wasn't blogging, but that's a good thing, right?

Here are some of my favorites that I worked on this year.

This is the before shot of the first chest that I painted and glazed.

This is the after. It is not in this location any more though. You know how I like to move things.

This is the before of my dining room hutch.

The after with the new green background.

This is an old changing table that was my son in law's

and now it is a pretty in pink changing table for his daughter.

I made these drop cloth drapes to replace boring white sheers in the guest room.

The mantel went from white to

this new color.

If you want to see any of the posts in full click on the highlighted links.
I have a few new projects I need to start for 2011. How about you?

Now I want to see some of your projects and makeovers from this year.

Please just link your intended post and not your whole blog.
Please add a link or my button in your post so others can find the party and join in if they would like.
I hope you will become a follower if you are new here.

Now let's party!

BTB #7 Features

I have been very busy taking down the Christmas decorations. I told Mr. Savvy to remind me next year not to put out too much or to just shoot me if I do. It is not fun taking all this stuff down.

Anyhoo, on to the features. I want to thank all of you who participated last week with lots of great stuff.

Checkout this wonderful wreath over at My Heart with Pleasure Fills.

I love these vintage style ornaments and you have to see what they are made from. You can find a tutorial at Cottage Hill.

Great chest makeover by Holly at Roller Coaster Life.

You have to check out Terry's artistic abilities and projects at Forever Decorating blog.

You can find instructions on how to make a beautiful herringbone pillow like this one at
Craft a World by Farrah.

Thanks so much for all these great inspirational projects. I am amazed at the talent out there.
If you were featured you can grab my featured button at the top of my sidebar.

Tonight I want to see your best projects of 2010. You can either share one of your old posts or combine several of your best projects or makeovers into one post and link it up tonight! I am limiting everyone to one link up, please.

See you tonight!

Some News and Linky Party Info

I hope everyone is off to a good start this week. I know many are still visiting with their families for the holidays. My guests went home this morning and they will be missed. I am going to miss hearing Rachele say G Dad and Gwammy.

I can't believe I won a very big blog giveaway on December 23rd, a $150.00 Amazon gift card from A Beach Cottage. I already ordered a few things and will share them in the future. Now that is a great Christmas present. I want to thank Anita at Going a Little Coastal for telling me that I had won that.
I might have missed out if she hadn't told me. Thanks again, Anita.

I made the top ten in the Christmas decor contest at The CSI Project. Very surprised at that. There were so many beautiful homes. Be sure and go visit the other participants.

This week for the "Boring to Better" linky party I would like everyone to pick your favorite project or a review of projects or before and afters you worked on this past year. Show me your best stuff! I would love for you to combine several projects into one post if you like or just show me one. I just may need to keep it to one link up per person.

I will have the link up on Tuesday evening.
Can't wait to see your best!!

Have an awesome day,

KIM

Good Times

Thanks so much for all the comments on my brother's home. I will take some shots some time later when all the Christmas stuff is put away and share their beautiful home.

This is the metamorphosis of opening that special gift.

First you start tearing the paper.

Then you tear it some more.

Then you get help from mom.

And some help from G Dad.

Then you watch Tickle Me Elmo shake on the table.

Oh, the delight of that precious face! She loves her Tickle Me Elmo!

Sorry about some of the blurred shots. No do overs!
Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday!
Our son and family go home tomorrow and then the cleaning begins.

Y'all come back now,
