BTB Party 11.......

.........and Catching Your Man in the Mood!

Ladies, not that mood! I'm talking about catching him in the mood to work on a project that has been
waiting for four years or more. On Saturday I asked Mr. Savvy to help me get the sliders out from under the bed in the guest room that I am still working on. Have y'all used those sliders that go under
the legs of furniture so it can be easily moved around? I wish I had invented those they are wonderful. Oh, off subject here, anyway, while we were pulling the sliders out and he was looking at the paint job I did, I mentioned the box of floor tiles that I purchased four years ago. I said they sure
would look a lot better than the horrible cheap linoleum we put in when the house was built. The floor was very worn and stained, too. Next thing I know he tells me that first he has to take up the quarter round trim and take the toilet out for the job to be done right. What?!! You are going to actually lay the floor tiles? Wasn't expecting that!

This is the before. I haven't shown y'all this bathroom before because it ain't purdy.
It's BORING!

This is during the project. Yep, he started working in his pajamas and then changed later. Now, co workers of this man, do not tell him this is in my post! I know y'all tell him because
he then tells me. So read and shhhhhh. And ladies he is mine! All mine!

These are Armstrong pull and stick vinyl floor tiles and look how much they look like slate.

So much better!

I had actually purchased this floor for the other guest bathroom before I changed the colors in that room.
I had purchased white for this one. We were going to put the white in here, but I didn't buy
enough of those so we used these since he was in the mood to do it now.
This works well with the bedroom color anyway.

He still needs to caulk the trim and then I will have to touch up the paint.
He finished this in less than a day and I have been waiting for four years!

I am still working on this guest room, but should be through soon, maybe.

Now it is time for you to show me whatcha got!

Kim,
I have the same before vinyl in my downstairs bath. I want tile so bad, but this is a great look, too!

I think we may be married to the same man. He even resembles mine from that angle. They're work ethic is very similar.
Seriously, you did a very good job with that flooring. It does feel good to get things done. I'd like to experience that more often!

Hi Kim! Floor looks fabulous! I have something similiar to that floor in my little bathroom cept its gray. I love it and its really durable. Thank you for hosting this party. I really enjoy participating and reading all the cool blogs:)

You had me cracking up. Our poor husbands and what we put them through. Mine is playing in drywall mud as we speak. Yeah...and I'm reading blogs. Hmmmm....wonder how long he'll let me by with that?

The new floor looks great, Kim! If you hadn't told us those were vinyl tiles, we would have all thought you had great slate floors!

Love this post, Kim! LOL! I admire Mr. Savvy's tile-layin'-pj's! Glad to see there are others who start projects in their pj's!

Seriously, the floor looks great! It is amazing how one thing can change the look of a room so much... not that with you there would ever be ONLY one change. LOL.

Found out today that the next grandbaby will be a boy, too! That'll save me a fortune in clothes! LOL!

The hiney as his best shot? You're a brave girl to show this, Kim! LOL
How nice to have a darker and more contemporary looking floor. Now go get out that paint brush! :-)

We used tiles like that in a guest bathroom some years back in another house. We didn't want to spend a fortune so it was a good solution and easy, peasy to do. I love furniture sliders too!

I think this warrants him getting another kind of 'mood!' Man, I am impressed! It looks great!!! Love it!! Christie P.S. I linked my junkin' finds...hope that is okay! Maybe they will make it to some before and after shots soon!

Don't you just love getting your man in the mood? LOL Loved that first line!
I've used those tiles before, or at least a very similar one. My sister did to, in fact, and they are so pretty. They do look so much like slate that really, you have to almost feel it to know it's not the real deal.
Love the color you chose! Looks great!

Hi Kim~ The floor looks fantastic and love that your man was laying the tiles down in his jammies- you have to seize the moment to get stuff done sometimes- and if it happens to be when they are wearing jammies- so be it!!! Too cute!! :) Thanks for hosting! :)

Kim,

You stole him. You stole my Travis!!! LOL. He has the same PJ's, wears with a tee shirt, and from this view, they are identical!!! OMG, I'm laughing my head off. I kid you not. The only problem is, my hubby can't put down tile, or hammer a nail, or fix anything! Except Ribeyes on the grill! He's great at that!

I love your floor! He did a great job!! Tell him he's the man!!!

Kim, I am sooooo impressed that despite how many people join your blog party each week you go and visit them. That is just amazing and so cool!

I love your floor change. Who would believe that those vinyl tiles would look that authentic. Love, love, love the photo in the jammies! That looks like me. My other famous one is gardening in white pants or shorts!

The new flooring looks great. I wouldn't have known it was vinyl tile unless you had stated so... very nice. Mr. Savvy stole my heart in his tile laying PJs. I know you must be thankful for having such a wonderful guy around the house.

Hi Kim, love the pajama shot! That's too funny - thanks for making me laugh (here when it's 1:30am and I'm up cuz I can't sleep). The new floor looks so awesome. I had that floor once - but it sure didn't look as good as yours! He did an amazing job. When I had it, "I" had to do it myself as a temporary band-aid because our carpet was so awful that "I" ripped it out one day and I then waited 4 years for hard wood floors! So in the meantime, I put those peal and stick tiles down all along the border of the room and just under where the almost room size area rug met it. Right on the subflooring. It was a huge improvement and didn't cost a lot ;) Enjoy it. I can see a nice green plant in a pretty pot in that corner - the color of the flooring looks great with plants! But I'm sure you've already got it all decorated in your mind already! Take care,

Michelle

You're so lucky to have gotten him to finally put those floor tiles down! I'm still waiting on my trim to be finished and it's been a couple of years now. Don't ya just hate to be dependent on someone else to do something? Glad you caught Doug "in the mood". I know that is not always easy. Ha!!!

Bonnie@Creative Decorating said...

Wow! I didn't think I was that late to the party but I am way down on the list!!! Thanks for hosting!

I had that same floor in our other home but in the kitchen. So you can imagine how bad it looked by the time we moved! I can't get over how great the new tiles look. They really don't look like that type of flooring! Awesome!

Tell Mr. Savvy those are some great "lounge" pants!!

That's too funny- he finished in less than a day & you've waited for four years!!! I can't tell you how much that sounds like my parents! At least it's finally done and looks so much better! Thanks for hosting the party- this is my first time linking up!

I love the floor, tell him he did a great job on it from me, I have a bookcase still sitting in a room in a box that I bought the day we bought my camera and he knows he has to put it together but still walks right past it:)

Great party and I love the size of the thumbnails on your Mr. Linky others I can hardly see the pictures!

Oh Kim, I love the floor. Thank you for sharing that story about your husband and the time it took him to put it down. I have had 4 mirrors for either side of my bed for about a year and they are still sitting on my floor in my bedroom. This has happened with other things I have purchased as well. I am so glad that I am not the only one. (sorry for that) I was beginning to think it was me. Sometimes I just want to hire someone to do it but my husband is so good at everything like this it would blow his mind if I paid someone but let me tell you I am tempted if he doesnt get this mirror hanging done soon.
