Let's Play a Game.....

1.01.2011

......and it's called guess what Kim is painting now? Yes, I started painting a room yesterday that was not even on my to do list for 2011. In fact, I just painted this room in the last year, but I don't like it anymore and it has to be changed. When the bug bites me to change something I usually just go with it while I'm in the mood to paint.

Is it the kitchen?

Or is it the master bedroom?

Could it be the master bath?

Maybe the dining room?

My  to do list this year is:

Paint the laundry room
Paint the area between the laundry room and kitchen
Paint the front guest room
Paint the master bathroom cabinets
Organize the mess in the bonus room before someone calls the Hoarders show. A lot of you have asked where do I keep all my STUFF and that would be mostly in the bonus room. It's bad!
Clean out closets, cabinets, and drawers ( already donated a bunch to Good Will two days ago)
Paint some furniture pieces and look for thrift bargains to makeover and possibly sell.
Work in the yard more this year. Didn't keep it up too good last year.

So what room do you think I am working on and do you have a to do list?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Oh, and if you think I'm crazy get in line because so does my family.

A couple of you know what room I am painting and don't tell, please!

Happy New Year and enjoy the rest of the weekend! I'll be painting.

  1. Kim I want to know if I can rent YOU for 2 weeks in California??? I can not even imagine painting. I am trying to get up the ambition to finish my laundry and take down the tree!!! You have already moved on mentally and physically to your To Do list and I know you will get your list done. I get the writing part of my list done, does that count?

I am going to guess the Master bedroom!! Kathysue

  2. I could not even begin to guess! I can't wait to see...maybe it will inspire me to paint something! I painted the wrought iron spindles on my staircase just before Thanksgiving and I swore I was never going to pick up a paint brush again...it too 5 days...YUCK!

Can't wait to see the pics!

    Happy New Year again;)!

  4. Total guess here, Kim, but I'm saying the dining room?? I'm having trouble deciding what to do with my living room. I want to paint it and now that a lot of the clutter is out, I am undecided which way to go. Sigh!

  6. I am guessing it is the dining room too! Whatever it is I know it will be fantastic! Can't wait to see the new color! I have no list's as of yet, well technically that's not true. They just are not written down.

  7. I agree with Kathysue on you starting to paint and me still having to get decorations down. It so inspires me to get started on my to do list which is verrrrrrrrrrrrrry long. I am going to guess dining room.

  8. Kim, I'm hoping it's NOT the kitchen. I love this shade of green. In fact, I'm thinking of painting my kitchen the same color. If I had to venture a guess, I would agree with the others and say the dining room... only because the yellow seems very different than the rest of your house. No matter what you do, it will look great because you have such an eye for color.

  9. Well, I am going to say the Master Bathroom, or maybe the kitchen. Can't tell what you might be painting but I know it will be wonderful. Have fun. I am so ready to rearrange the whole house, just don't know what to do. lol Hugs, Marty

  20. Are you my long lost twin? Lol. I so get you and the fact that your family doesn't! I am an endless painter. In fact, for a period or a couple of years, I painted every time my husband went somewhere for work. The parents at the bus stop used to say -- looks like Ian's away, are you painting today? I have slowed down, but only due to my family! I can't wait to see what you do, especially as it all looks beautiful as is. I guess dining room

And OK, I'm standing in line behind your family.

  30. I am guessing the dining room.
But all your rooms are lovely, so I dunno?!

  31. I don't think I have painted even one room this last year, so you are way ahead of me. I better start a to-do list this year. I'm going to guess your master bathroom. Can't wait to see which room it is.

  32. Well girl you are not alone cuz a week before Christmas I repainted our living room/dining room and then after Christmas I painted the kitchen. It's so nice to know there is someone as crazy as me out there. I'm like you, when the bug hits, I have to go for it. I'm guessing the dining room?

  33. How do you get hubby to go along with the redo's? Any little project and Don gets his back up and it's why? what's wrong with it? are you sure? well, I'm not going to do it for you?.....Lol....He told me 10 years ago that I was forbidden to give him a honey do list....where did I go wrong? Happy new Year.

  34. dining room would be my guess.

    ReplyDelete
  35. My goodness, woman. You never stop! You go, girl. I bet hubby is one patient person. lol

I think each of your rooms is stunning. If I had to guess, though, I would say your dining room. The color, while beautiful, seems a little more bright than in your other rooms. So, I'm thinking you prefer the more soft, muted, earthy colors. Now, if that's not correct I'm going to feel like a big ol' heel. :>)

  36. Mmmmmm.....I'd guess.... the dining room. All of your rooms are lovely the way they are, but then again, what would you blog about if everything stayed the same?? I'd also like to hire you for a few days. You wouldn't even have to go as far as CA, just a little drive up 75. And let me know when one of those painted pieces goes for sale.

  37. my guess is the dining room - can't wait to see the result! I have a mile long "to do" list this year also - a few more days for me to rest/relax before I have to get down to crafty business.

  40. Well, I haven't a CLUE what you are painting...but after all the comments on the DINING ROOM...I guess maybe you SHOULD paint it -cuz it seems like everyone else thinks you should- LOL....

And your family thinks you're crazy? NO! Well..that would make us good company because my family has always thought I'm crazy...and, truth be told, I kinda like crazy-at least your kind of crazy! Hugs-Diana ps...this isn't gonna be one of those week-long reveals, is it? Hugs- Diana

  45. Now you've got us all curious! If you fancy a working holiday in the Pacific North West, just let me know when and I'll have the paint and brushes ready :)
This afternoon I took an hour and cleared out all the bathroom drawers and cabinets and the linen closet. Tossed out expired makeup and lotions and reveled in the neat and tidy look of it all.

  46. I have to agree its the dining room and the reason is that usually the brightest paint jobs get tiresome to live with...so that is the reason I am picking the dining room. I know exactly how you feel when you see a room and suddenly it needs to be a different color. I am painting my master bedroom right now...and I started it while hubs was lying on the bed talking on the phone! He looked over and screamed outloud "omg she has half the wall painted!!!" We all laughed, cuz thats how I roll.

  47. Oh My Gosh! I can't even begin to guess what you are painting. I can't wait to see!

  49. I am guessing the dining room. No reason...just a guess.

We were given a bed for a guest room at the lake, we are going to paint. Hopefully in a day or two. We might "cheat" a bit and see if the body shop will do it.

  50. I am guessing the dining room. I was surprised to see it yellow. It is a lovely color, just doesn't seem to be YOU...:):) I envy you that you are already on your list. I don't have Christmas down yet, haven't started yet!!! XO, Pinky

  52. I have always dreamed of a clawfoot tub too! I lucked out and found not one. But, TWO clawfoot tubs for FREEE on Craigslist. I originally was going to sell them. I just can't part with them though. I'm holding on to these two gems!

  53. Oh, sweet lady, what are you up to now? Your home is absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't change a thing but I know how it is about your own home. Can't let things get dull. Can't wait to see what you are painting. I know it will be great.
In your spare time get some rest.
    Hugs, Ginger

  54. My guess would be the dining room because as beautiful as it is, it surprised me that you chose that color. The rest of your gorgeous home has more muted colors throughout. As always, I'm sure it will be fabulous, (whichever room it is) when you're finished!! Can't wait for the reveal!!
    Happy New Year

  58. Hi Kimmie! Oh, my goodness! You're at it again! :) Well, I'm so impressed with your energy as I'm still taking down my Christmas decorations.
I love all of your rooms but I'm guessing maybe the dining room since you painted your china cabinet? Can't wait to see.
Oh, thanks for popping in to see my headers. I couldn't stand it if my header stayed the same forever - I guess I'm breaking Blogland rules! :) Well, my little silhouette and saying stay the same - that counts! :)
Be a sweetie and Happy New Year,
