My New Dog

1.31.2011

I hope you are having a good Monday. After our glorious spring like weather this weekend it
quickly went downhill into a dreary rainy cold day.  At least it is better than what some of you are having in the mid west. I hope you stay safe and warm.

Well, thank goodness I thought ahead and took pictures for future blog posts just in case it
is dark and gray like today. We bloggers some times have to stay ahead of the game.

I am joining Marty for Tabletop Tuesday with a little vignette on my bookcase shelf in the sitting room
that I recently changed because of a new purchase.

When I went to the flea market the other day the first thing I saw when I walked in was this bronze
dog. I have been looking for more dog statues to use in this room and this one certainly
fits the bill.

I didn't pick it up at first, after all I had just walked in the door and I wanted to look around
first to see if I saw anything else.

I figured if it was still there when I finished then it was meant to be mine.

I sure was glad that it was still there since I didn't find anything else.

The best part is it was only $22. I thought that was a pretty good price for bronze.
I love how it goes well with the other things in this room.

And here is my other favorite dog that was napping while I was taking pictures. She loves
this room because stays really warm with the sun streaming in.

Hope you have a great week,
KIM

  1. You have such a knack for making everything look right at home. I really like it, along with the trophy and the hat next to it.
The next shelf down looks very nice and unique too.

  2. That's a great bronze, Kim.

I think I am going to paint the pediment. It will give me something to do while we are snowed and iced in. When I put the lighter prints up, I thought to myself, I should paint that piece.

  15. I love your bronze dog. I tend to pick up dog related antiques as to me they just speak "a warm home". Being a dog lover, I can't imagine life without one around. It is so exciting to find something that you love and it displays so nicely with the rest of the items on your shelf.

  29. Stopped back to say congratulations on your one year anniversary! I was the same, one day I asked someone who was going on and on about reading blogs, "What exactly is a blog." I felt dumb but now I knew. It was a long time before I read one, and now I am a blogger! It was fun to read. I love coming here so I am glad that you are a blogger!

Bailey looks so sweet napping on your sofa. My little Chloe loves to do that too.
The ice storm just started here in my part of Ohio. Hope we don't get the power outages that they are calling for.
