My New Look

1.07.2011

Well, not my new look, but my blog's new look. Did you notice it? My blog header has been the same for almost a year. I wasn't going to change it because I had read in two blog books that suggested that you get a header and keep it so when people come look at your blog they will immediately recognize the blog. Obviously I have changed my mind plus I wanted several photos that I feel represent what my blog is about instead of just one.

The community of blogging is so awesome. If it had not been for the help of a fellow blogger I would still have the same header. I have to give a huge thank you to Brenda of Cozy Little House. She has spent countless hours yesterday and this morning putting my header together.

As you can see she loves color in her home like I do.

When the season is right you will most likely find her in her wonderful garden.

It you haven't visited Brenda's blog before you are in for a treat. She is the one that welcomes new blogs on Fridays with the welcome wagon. She does the work for us and locates newbies and then tells us about them.

This was a very friendly gesture she did for me!

THANK YOU, BRENDA!!!!

You are the best!

I hope everyone has an awesome weekend,

KIM

Post edit: Brenda emailed me and she is typing out the step by step instructions on how to do a header like mine and it will be posted tomorrow on her blog.

  7. I love your "refreshed" header; it still looks very much like your blog. I would love to do a similar composite of images to better represent my blog, but have no idea where to start. As I'm sure you know, there isn't anything available in blogger design to do this--did you end up writing html? Any advice would be helpful! Have a great weekend!

  9. I'm with All that Glitters. I have been wanting something similar, but I'm still a tech newbie and can't figure it out for the world, so I just keep using the freebies that I find.

Anyways, I love your new header. Of course, I love everything about your blog.

    Have a great day!

  51. Hi Kim...this is my third attempt to comment, I have been sidetracked every time LOL! Love the header. Really you read you are not suppose to change it? Well I never follow the rules therefore how many changes have I had?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well, the thing that is funny is when I use Google Reader--which I now do frequently--you don't see the header, just the article you have posted!

  53. I like the new look, but I always liked the red couch with Bailey on it too. I am glad you kept a picture of her. I had a lady tell me she would help me do the same thing, I just haven't got around to getting it done. I have got to get that Christmas picture off of mine.

    ReplyDelete
  54. LOL! I did a doubletake when I clicked to come over to your blog! Then I saw Bailey and knew I was't lost. LOL! I love your new look. Good job on both your and Brenda's part.

  55. I love the new header. I just made a change on mine too. I had been wanting one with multiple pics and finally got around to doing it. Brenda is a doll and such a sweetie to create the header and post the how-to on her blog. What I want to know is how to get the links under the header? Don't know if Brenda will address that but I'll check it out.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  62. PS: I have struggled with my header ever since I started blogging! I just can't seem to get the dimensions right or figure out the collage thing. Collages are not easy for me! Anyway, love your header!

  63. I believe my header is just like my home,
always changing, ever evolving, and hopefully getting better and better.

I strive to keep the same "feeling" at all times on the blog ... keeping the colors uniform and the "style" of writing, etc. But I did chose to go to the dot.com to raise the bar a bit.

I know you're pickin' up what I'm layn' down, because you do a lot of the same!

Your header rocks my dear new friend.
    The puppy is so sweet.

  64. Love your blog's new look! My little blog's a little over a year old now, and I've never really had a header. Maybe I think about finding someone like to Brenda to help me out - since I don't have a clue how to do it!

    I'm off to check out Brenda's blog . . .
