More French Country in the Kitchen

2.13.2011

On Saturday I decided to go see my daughter and little miss Leila and there just happens to be
a nice antique mall close by that I like to browse around in. I lucked up on a couple of small
purchases. I am going to show you one of them now.

I am loving these copper molds. This is such a great country French look and what could be
better than a cow.

Isn't it cute and only $6.

I bought this one there last time and had it hanging in a different spot.

This one has been hanging from my pot rack for years.

I decided to hang the three together on this wall.

The best part is the my new cow mold hides this ugly phone jack. Remember when we used phone
jacks? Well, now you see it.......

......and now you don't. Love when that happens.

I love the new look.

I am joining the following:

Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday
Dittle Dattle for Amaze me Mondays
The Shabby Chic Cottage for transformation Thursdays

We are going to have wonderful weather this week finally.
I hope you have the best week!

  12. Well done! I have to say, the wall jack made me nostalgic! I remember my mommy making dinner with a 20 foot squiggly cord stretched across the kitchen as she talked with her girlfriend on the phone....such sweet memories!

But yes, they are there, and we must move forward - I think even my mommy is happy with cordless now :) The copper molds are just beautiful!

Tomorrow I finish my 'faux stainless steel 'counter tops - I'll let you know how they turn out!

  25. Kim,
I have a copper fish shaped mold that I used to have hanging in my kitchen back when copper was all the rage. I just love the way that grouping looks and will have to drag out that fish and see what I can do with it. Thanks for the inspiration!

So it looks like your trip was a success. I love hiding plugs, phone jacks, etc. - they are so unsightly. Your collection looks great on this wall.

I also loved your white container filled with tulips. I have to admit I am much more of a tulip kind of gal than roses. Happy Valentines Day!

  44. Hi Kim~ Those copper molds are gorgeous~ especially love the cow mold! They are perfect all together on the wall. I have a an old outlet( of all things!) high up on a wall-that I hang things over to hide it. Wonder what were they thinking back in the 40's to put an outlet about 5' up on the wall in the middle of nowhere?

  45. I saw a cow lamp the other day. I love your molds. I don't have any. But if I happen upon any, I'll sure give them a second look. Love when decorating serves a dual purpose of covering something ugly with something beautiful!

  56. Wow, amazing finds! Isn't it wonderful when new purchases tie in so nicely with things you've had for years? The color combination of copper and green really reminds me of some stuff we saw at the Las Vegas Market trade show earlier this month. So bright and refreshing!
