The Polohouse

2.26.2011

If you love equestrian style decorating like I do then you are going to love this blog. I was thrilled when Alison left a comment on my blog because that led me to hers and her exquisitely decorated home which used to be a barn.  Alison is a designer and sells antiques. Oh, how I wish I lived close
to Chicago. Here are just a sampling of photos of her beautiful home The Polohouse.

                                                         Love the old brick floor.

Check out her kitchen. This was the first photo I saw when I came to her blog and I gasped!

I don't want to give too much away. Please go check it out for yourself. Lots of eye candy and she will be sharing a lot more. I look forward to more posts.

Thanks, Alison for letting me share your blog and home.

Be sure and say hi to Alison at The Polohouse.

Enjoy your weekend,

KIM

  11. Gorgeous! I'll be going right over. I love seeing a variety of homes. This one is so different than most. Seems like a lot of the same style is shown on the decorating blogs so its nice to see someone marching to a different drummer.

  13. Kim, thanks for sharing the Polohouse. Her home is gorgeous, and I will go over to her blog and see more. We are redoing our house and I am switching the living room and dining room. It is an historic home so the rooms are the same size, and one of the fireplaces is in the dining room, which also has natural dark beadboard high ceilings. We are equestrians, but I have never done a room with the theme, so I thought that would be the perfect room for my new decor. Her room was so inspiring. So glad I got to see it!

  29. Thanks for sharing this blog, Kim. I, too, gasped when I saw the kitchen. Seriously, WOW! I'm not much into horses, but I can appreciate their beauty & that style of decorating. Do you watch the show American Pickers? They just did a recent episode where William Shatner & his wife contacted them to locate some specific items for decorating the office in their Tennessee country home. They wanted everything to revolve around horses & derbies, etc., as they have long been raising & loving horses. The American Picker guys found some amazingly awesome things & the finished room looked great. It was just what the Shatners wanted.
