Texture

2.17.2011

Thanks so much to everyone who participated at my party this week. So many great links. I am still
going through them since it takes quite some time. If you have something you want to add to the
party it is still open here.

Also thanks to all those who support the idea of me taking sponsors.

We have had the prettiest weather this week and it is supposed to get even better. It was 72 today.
Woo hoo!

Bailey and I have been going to the park to walk and boy, do the front of my shins hurt. They
always do when I first start back. I am pushing through it though.

I know we will have more cold weather, but I don't want to think about that now. I am
just enjoying what we have now.

I do have a bad case of spring fever though.

One thing I have not enjoyed is the wind. I have some spray painting I need to do and
everyday we have wind. I told Mr. Savvy he needs to make me a place to paint in his garage.

I think I would like to find some pieces to paint and sell. Just a thought.

I really need a SUV or truck for my new hobby. We should have kept the Mr.'s SUV that
he had. Oh well, we have trucks we can borrow.

Alright enough rambling. I can't believe how quickly this week is going by. I was just antiquing last
Sunday in Atlanta and it seems like yesterday. The sea fan in the above photos is one of my finds from there.
I thought it was so pretty and love the texture. I thought I would change things up on my sideboard
and add some spring to the vignette.

How about you? Spring fever yet?

KIM

  1. Hey there Kim...I live in Ohio and cannot wait for the snow to melt. Spring fever is everywhere here...I can relate about not having a vehicle to haul large items. I want a sofa from IKEA but have no way to get it home. I'm still working on that one...anyway, have a great weekend if I don't talk to you before. Ann

  3. The sea fan is ultra gorgeous! It reminds me of the Muhly grass out by the pond in my yard.

  5. Being here in Atlanta I too am enjoying the most fabulous weather! Really is the best weather for painting, sorry about the wind though spray painting is tough in the wind. Please stop by my blog as I referenced your blog there. You are my idol! :)

  7. I love this vignette. White, silver and a little color..right up my alley. I have spring fever myself and posted about it today. I'm changing my mantel to a spring look today and will post soon. I love that piece of coral you got. Did you get it at Scott's? Love the big flea markets in Atlanta. I went every month when I lived there. The Flea Market used to be good here but not any more. I've gotten where I don't even bother and I used to be addicted.

  9. Love your photos. They are wonderful and show such fabulous texture. Great new vignette. Yes, I am so ready for something green. This cold winter just killed everything. I think I even lost a couple of trees and most of the plants are gone. So, ready for this to end so I can get it all going again. Hugs, Marty

  11. Yet another lovely vignette Kim, I love the sea fan you found in Atlanta! And yes I have spring fever in a big way! The dogs and I were outside most of the day today just soaking up some rays and enjoying the warmer temps!

  12. Your weather is much better than ours this week. We got spoiled last weekend and now it's pouring rain. Your pictures are beautiful as always. Love all your colors and accessories.

  13. I too have Spring fever. I'm trying to have some restraint. My rule of thumb is that on the day I see my first daffodil (my favorite flower) blooming, it's officially Spring and I can bring out all my Spring decor!
    Best,
    Susan

  16. I was going to ask you...but you answered my question! It's a sea fan! I need to find one for the table at my entry! I have shells and candles but I need something with some height! Now I know what I'm looking for! Love your beautiful decor, Kim! You are always giving me ideas! ♥

  19. We are having that same gorgeous weather too but with lots of wind. And yep, I am spray painting in the wind...which is tough. :) I think my clothes have a fine mist of white on them. Your vignette is so pretty. I got out my bunnies for some spring renewal in my home and will work on some new vignettes this weekend. xo

  21. Kim, for your shins-freeze some water in a disposable coffee cup. Then when your done walking peel back some of the cup to expose the ice and rub the ice on your shins. As the ice melts tear off more of the cup. It really works.

I'm glad your weather is nice, we are experiencing a blizzard at the moment. Oh well, that's okay, I know our Spring isn't meant to arrive for a couple of months yet.

I think your idea of buying pieces to paint and sell is a wonderful idea. You definitely have a real talent in that department and know you would be a huge success.

The mirror is so elegant and the way it reflects the staircase just opens up the space even more.
    Gorgeous and perfect for springtime.

  37. Yes, I have spring fever! We have been enjoying a warm spell, too. And, like you, I'm sure it is not the last of the cold, so I am soaking it up while it is warm! I could not live without my SUV... a girl's gotta haul stuff! LOL! I love the new vignette. Have a great weekend!

  38. Your "spring fever" additions are so pretty. My sunroom is where I'm doing my "spring-like" decor. That room is filled with light, and is where I have lots of plants, and is a natural setting for the greens & yellows that I adore. Thanks for hosting the WOW party. It's so much fun for the well-seasoned, the newbies, & the "getting-there" almost seasoned (that would be me) bloggers.

  39. Love the soft color of the sea fan, Kim. Yep! I have Spring fever too...AND I am still walking..you are probably getting a better workout than I am because so far I am not "hurting"...my legs just feel a bit rubbery. Keep it up! Diana

  40. Oh yes - spring fever for sure.. it got up in the 60's yesterday and today is looking promising already. My shins hurt too when I start walking, which I have.

I think you should absolutely start picking out pieces to paint and sell. You've got what it takes, why ever not?

Love the vignettes you've put together there... the pink sea fan is a perfect touch for this time of year.

  48. Absolutely have spring fever. I've been able to have the patio door open some this week and let fresh air in the house. I think I'll work on a wreath for the front door this afternoon. I'm dying to add some spring touches to the house...but I did see snowflakes in the forecast for a few days from now:( I'm just enjoying it while it is here...love that sunshine!

I really like the new vignette. I also think taking sponsors is a great idea and one that I hope to do myself if I'm ever "big" enough!
