The Improved Master

3.24.2011

Thanks so much for the wonderful turnout for my Wow Us Wednesdays party. The link is still open for a day or so if you want to join here.

Now on to my latest makeover, the master bedroom. Not a huge change just some minor changes to give the room more of the look I was longing for.

First, let's take a look at the old look. This was taken back in December when it was decorated for Christmas.

The after is lighter, brighter and softer.

Night time

Just photos right now.
I will share the details and sources in another post.

I am loving all the white, cream and soft pale blue with the brown walls.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

KIM

  1. Kim I must say I think this is my favorite look to date. I love all white and cream bedding with a touch of blue, I have the same combination in two of my bedrooms and It is like taking a deep breath when I enter either of these rooms. One I have ceiling painted the palest of blues that would go perfectly with your toile pillows. It reallllly looks great Kim I think it looks like a major change!!! Kathysue

  46. Kim,

Your bedroom with the brown walls and white linens are so in right now. I’m on a brown kick and just painted my son’s room brown. I think I like your shade better.
I adore those pillows on your bed and love the reading chair in the corner.
The whimsical picture you have on the wall is just so cute!
I'm going to try the Farmhouse linen room spray. I adore the smell of lavender.

  49. Very pretty. I just picked up a new white coverlet and bedskirt tonight. My dark brown bedding was just too dark for spring. I still have to figure out exactly what I'm going to do with it...and find some new shams and pillows. I love the lighter look for the warmer weather...which is certainly gone for the next few days around here!

  71. Hi Kim...

Ohhh...I love your master's "lighter-brighter" look! Of course, I loved how you decorated it for Christmas as well! Shoot...I just love how you do everything, Girlfriend! Hehe! I really am loving those gorgeous bed linens though! The white quilt is sooo pretty and I love the ticking striped dust ruffle! Ohhh...and then there are all of those pretty pillows! I just love the fabric on the two square pillows. I know there is a specific name for that pretty pattern and can't think of it? It's lovely though! Kim, what color are your walls in this room? I thought they looked like a putty color in a few of the photos and then in the very last photo...they looked olive? Just curious...I think they are gorgeous! Well dear friend, thank you so much for sharing your pretty bedroom with us! I love the new look!

    Warmest spring wishes,
