Come Sit a Spell.......

5.21.2011

.......with me. That is so country isn't it? Well, that is what we say down here in the south.

I thought I would set up the hammock and grab a couple of my new magazines, out of the five that have come in the last two days, and see if anything good is in them.

I was going to finish up on some more of that darn ironing today, but I decided to take a break and went to the flea market today that only comes one weekend a month.

I haven't been to this one in a long time and it was very crowded today. I did find a couple of things.

I didn't have a long time to shop since Leila was coming for us to babysit over night tonight so mama and daddy could go to a wedding in Atlanta.

I bet you want to see what I bought don't you? Well, I will show you soon.

So I thought I would sit a spell here in the shade since it is so hot. A few days ago it was in  the mid sixties for our high and today it was ninety three. Too hot already! I wish the weather would gradually get hotter so we could get used to it.

So did you do anything fun today?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

  3. Hi Kim, that hammock looks heavenly but not the 90+ degree weather. It's much too soon for that. I hosted a tea table at our women's tea today and had a wonderful time. Enjoy your time with your little one.

  4. Well Kim, I could sure use that lovely hammock right now. Too pretty to mess up though, especially those pretty pillows.

I've spent my weekend waiting hand and foot on Mr. Sissie. He has an inner ear infection and refused to go to the doc until yesterday. He waited until he had dizzy spells!
Do you know how babyfied men are when they are sick! LOL! He has worn me out!!! Like to see a man have a baby, bet there wouldn't be very many!!!

    hugs

  5. Kim you set your hammock up so nice but I don't know if I could handle the 93 degrees even in the shade. Today was my son's 9th B-Day so after all his sports were over we went out to lunch. Tomorrow is his big party with friends at a batting cage. Enjoy that little sweetie pie tonight! Martina

  13. I know that I couldn't do much at 93 degrees! Up here it was cool and damp today and I took advantage of that to weed, weed and weed some more. Have fun with Leila!

  14. The hammock looks just perfect for a nap! I could definitely spend some time there. As relaxing as that looks, I'm right there with you on the weather. An almost 30 degree jump is a little much even for me!

  15. What a lovely place to while away the hours reading a magazine....

Today we met friends for lunch then headed to Greenville SC to Costco. Tonight we grilled burgers and had glass of wine or two under the pergola. Don't you love Saturdays?

  31. love the quilt on the hammock in the shade, so inviting. I missed our beautiful cool ATL weather, and I'll miss most of the hot days too. I'm still in Florida with my daughter and her newborn. She's so grateful I could be here. I leave tomorrow to come back to Atlanta. She's a bit nervous to be on her own, as her hubby has gone back to work. It's that emotional time, hormones have plummeted out, she's tired and everything is new. But, she is doing a wonderful job with the little bub. I told her her only job right now is to take care of the baby and sleep. Hubby can bring home dinner, clean the house, do the laundry, and whatever. Her only responsibility is to eat well, sleep when he sleeps and be healthy for her little bub. Motherhood, such an adjustment, but such an amazing joy!

  32. Such a lovely spot to relax, and with two of my favorite magazines!

I spent the day in the rose garden at Tufton Farm, near Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. It was a lovely day of roses and friends, with an unfortunate sunburn left as a reminder. Came home with five roses for my new garden. What a great day!
