Summer Deck Party part 2

6.22.2011

Thanks to all of you who have joined in the big summer blog party. It continues each day this week and I am going to join Sherry's party which is "summer entertaining." My summer decks and porches party post would have been too long if I had shared it all in one post. So glad you have come back for some refreshments at my party since I didn't offer any last night.

I gave you this sneak peek the other day so let's take a look at it set up outside.

Full view from the sun room door.

The table I used outside for the refreshments is this bamboo table in my sun room. It is very light weight and it folds which makes it easy to grab and use outside.

I grabbed this matelasse coverlet off my sofa and used it over the table and then topped it with the drop cloth that I painted. I keep this on the sofa since Bailey gets up there with dirty paws.

Just some good ole summertime refreshments to cool off with.

Of course I have lemonade ready. The red dispenser is from Target and was five dollars and something. One problem though, it drips. I place it up on a little tiny stool that I purchased from PB years ago.

I found these cute lemon glasses at the Dollar Tree. Yep, $1 apiece and they are real glass.

Grab a straw for your drink. I just stuck them and the red forks in a couple of old jars. I found the red striped straws on etsy. The others are from a new dollar store near me called Dollar Stop.

If you don't want lemonade I also have some ice cold cokes and diet cokes. Must have those in the south especially here near the home of coke. The green plastic tub is another Dollar Stop store find.

Got to have watermelon and this one is nice and cold. We will cut it soon. Just be patient.

Grab a plate and a napkin for your slice of watermelon.
The red gingham paper plates are from the Dollar Tree.

Picked up this flower from Home Depot and stuck it in my Pottery Barn basket.

I ordered the red checked napkins from Penney's last fall on sale and the ceramic napkin rings were found online a couple of years ago. I don't remember the site.

Oh, and the red shutter screen is from the sun room to hide the grill.

Thanks so much for coming back by and thanks to all those who have been joining this summer blog party. If you missed part one it is the post before this one.

I love those red and white checked napkins! I wonder if JCPenney still has them? I think I'll look and see.

I love the way you mixed inexpensive things with more expensive things--everything ends up looking very nice and it's so good to know that it's all done with "Savvy Southern Style." :)

  16. Kim,

I love your outdoor refreshment area. Red , yellow and green are such yummy colors! A fun fact about yummy Coke soda. Did you know that The coke leaves start out in New Jersey before they go south to make coke a cola.

  19. Kim, I love the yellow glasses with the red and white napkins. I plant my gerbera daisies in the ground and they come up every year even though they are supposed to be annuals. That watermelon does look cool and yummy in this awful Georgia heat. hugs♥olive

  32. Fabulous Kim! It is all just so beautiful. I LOVE how you hid the grill with the shutters! Of course when I showed this to Bama Boy just now he said, "why would you want to hide the grill?" MEN! They just don't get wanting to make everything look pretty! haha. I may still have to do this anyway, and he'll just get over it. ;) Thanks again for helping host this week and all you've done! We appreciate you!
