The Tablescape That Finally Got Completed

6.29.2011

I shared some new plates and glasses with y'all a good while back and have finally got a table setting put together using them. The table has been partially set for some time waiting for this and that. First I was waiting for the new flatware I ordered and then I kept putting off getting flowers for the centerpiece. Finally it all came together.

I used three vintage mason jars for the centerpiece. I filled them with a variety of flowers. Some from the store and some from my yard.

The gigantic hydrangea bloom is from my bush. It and the smaller one to the right are the only blooms so far this year.

These are the plates that started it all. I saw these at Home Goods and they hopped in my cart.
The green woven place mats are from World Market several years ago.

I love the colors and pattern of these. Great for a casual summer table.

The new flatware is another purchase from One Kings Lane with credit that I had. It was a very good deal. I ordered two four piece place settings and the order came wrong. It came with two place settings. I called customer service and they made it right as soon as they could. They were very nice to work with and emailed me with the progress of my order.

I purchased these glasses the same time as the plates at Home Goods.

I have had these napkins forever. I bought them at The Tabby House in St. Simons Island, Ga. I don't know if they are even in business anymore. The napkin rings are from a local shop.

Now we just need a meal to go with the setting.
Maybe a nice brunch.

  14. Kim-What a great looking table! Love your flowers-especially those hydrangeas! I hope you get some more before they are done blooming. Ours are all white in this part of the country. You can treat the soil with acid but the don't color up for more than one season.

Love your fruit plates too. The table does look perfect for a brunch. What time did you say? xo Diana

  18. Very very pretty. Love the new flatware. My hydrangeas aren't producing much this year either. Hmmmm...maybe because we had such a dry winter and spring? This is all such a pretty tablescape! I thought once I painted all my dining furniture, I would be inspired to put together some tablescapes but ...no

  26. Sometimes I savor the time that it takes to put together a new tablescape...half the fun is in the creative process. Your new plates would have jumped in my basket, too. Good thing that you got there first. Your wonderful blue goblets make me moan, yet again, that we don't have a Home Goods. My word they have cool things! Thank you for sharing your beautiful design. It is totally in keeping with your lovely dining room. Cherry Kay

  29. Kim, you have such style and an eye for collecting and putting things together! The colors in this table are beautiful. I did not see those pretty plates. I do wish we had a World Market nearby, as I see so many nice items on blogs from that store. Have a nice day. I hope it is not too hot where you are. Linda

  39. Hi Kim,
It's hard to go in HomeGoods and pass up all the lovely dishes and cystal. I love the plates, especially the scalloped edges!

    Your tablescape is so pretty.
My hydrangeas are not blooming very well this summer, it's too hot, I think. The plants keep wilting.

    Enjoy yours!
