Pink

7.02.2011

I hope everyone has some fun planned for this extended weekend. I am going to go down to my daughter's later this morning and we are going to Ikea in Atlanta. I have only been twice and don't live that far from it. I know I know, some of you drive for hours to go to one. I didn't have anything else to do today so I thought going in that big cool store on a hot day would be fun.

Last night at 9 o'clock I was sitting here in my sun room and I realized that everything was glowing in pink. I looked outside and the sky and yard was pink from the sunset bouncing off a cloud overhead. I grabbed my camera and thought I would share these shots with you. I have not done any editing to these. This was at nine and after.

Enjoy your day and weekend!

  2. Gorgeous sunset Kim.

When my daughter and I visit Ikea
(a rarity these days) we act like a pair of idiots - we call each other Inga and Helga and speak in a stupid accent! Last time we went we had a 'stalker' all round the store - we think he really couldn't believe 'they'd' let us out for the day ;o)
Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we usually do!
    Have a great weekend.

  4. Kim, thanks for grabbing your camera for these amazing photos. Your deck is lovely, but the pink makes it magical. Wish I were going to Atlanta, and maybe tomorrow we will. My sister lives there so we are invited for a feast and fireworks.
    Safe travels and Happy Fourth

  7. The pink is amazing. Have fun at IKEA, you are a braver person than I am. The IKEA in our state is like a torture chamber in Little House of Horrors in the weekend.

  16. I love that sort of light. It happens seldom, so it's good that you were so quick with the camera. Lovely photos!
Think of me when you're in IKEA as I have to drive for 40 minutes, sail for 90 minutes and drive for another 30 to get to one.

  17. Ohhhhhhhh...beautiful sunset!!

And.......the pretty pink patio, house and steps.......I was wondering what color to "stain" or paint the old section of concrete patio, that I've stained a couple of times and had power-washed.

Maybe PINK?!?!?! It would look GREAT with Grey, like our house!!!

  21. Mine is the same, Kim, it is about 45 minutes away but I would never go spur of the moment. It's a planned trip if I decide to go because I try to fit it in between rush hours. I've seen a few things on other blogs that I like, so a trip may be coming up in the future!

  23. you've heard "pink at night, sailor's delight" haven't you? It means today should have been a lovely day. Not sure I can say that though with it being soooo hot. I'm content to be indoors recuperating, but my poor plants could use a break!
