Shopping In Franklin

7.09.2011

We got into Nashville around 2:30 yesterday and then it was planned that my daughter in law and I and Rachele would go to Franklin for a little shopping. Well we went to The Factory which is made up of several shops including an antique mall and then a couple of other shops on one of the streets in town. Most of the shops closed at five which did not give Grammy much time to shop. I brought my Canon point and shoot and took some shots of what I saw.

This is Rachele sitting in this giant rocker. You will see that she makes this face every time I try to take her picture. She will be three at the end of August.

This piece had layers and layers of old paint. They wanted $500 for it.

Do you recognize this mirror? Same one I have in my foyer. About the same price, too if anyone wants it it is in Franklin at The Factory for $275.

I really liked this ironstone tureen, but it was more than I wanted to pay.

Stores are closed and time to go. I only bought one small thing. Then we went home and picked up the guys and Naomi and went out to eat some really good pizza at a local place that was very busy. Today we will be getting ready for the baby gender reveal party and now they are expecting around 70 people. Ryan and Daniela already know the sex of the baby just the rest of us don't. I will be the one cutting the cake to find out if it is blue or pink inside.
I asked Rachele what she wants and she said a baby sissy. I told her she already has a baby sissy. Maybe it will be a little brother this time. No, she wants a baby sissy, she said. We will see.......

Have a wonderful Saturday.

  12. Love The Factory! It's too bad that they close so early. Don't you love how when you tell the kids to smile they give those cheesy smiles? lol Have fun "visiting". Hugs- Diana

  13. Here's wishing you a great time at the party. Have fun cutting the cake.

If you are in town a few more days it might be worth your time to take a drive up to Lebanon (head east on I-40 and it's about a 15-20minute drive) The town's full of antique shops on and just off the square, and most are very reasonably priced.

Again, enjoy the party and your time with family.

  17. Kim, Gosh all those pretty things and you only bought one thing.. sounds like me. I can't believe you didn't get that hunt scene oil painting in the one photo. If you see Miss Daisy in Franklin tell her I said "Hey". She used to have a restaurant in Franklin, but don't know if it's still open.

  25. Fun place to shop. I don't go often because it tempts me too much. I am in the northeast part of the county, so I see lots of "stars" when I shop. Have to drive by Dolly's house to get to Cool Springs Galleria. Lots of the country music people have personal shoppers because they would be mobbed if they came to Walgreens!

  40. Kim,
My BF and I went to Franklin today and spent it downtown! You have got to make it back and check out the antique malls on 2nd ave and hit the shops on the main drag. The Iron Gate is fabulous and so is Rebecca's Furniture and decor shop accorss the street! One of my BFs works there and is an amazing designer. We had a blast also. It's my favorite place to go.
What a cute idea with the cake. How exciting to fine out!

  44. Great post! My husband and I stopped by Franklin last year when we took our motorcycles out for what is becoming our yearly anniversary tradition. At the time, Franklin was having a lovely Independence Day fair and we were able to do a little shopping as well. Did you happen to stop in Philanthropy Fashion?? It's a great store and definitely worth a nod if you're in the area again.
