I am so excited. I received a new book by my favorite designer this week. It wasn't due to come out until the middle of September, but they released it early. I had pre-ordered this book and am super thrilled with it. Do you know who my favorite designer is?

Yessiree, Charles Faudree. Love his style and I get so excited when he releases another great book for me to study. This one surely doesn't disappoint.

Just like the title says it is all about the finishing touches in a room. Those are the "Details."

You open it up and there are oak leaves and acorns. Now, that really makes me think of fall.

This is the kind of sheep picture I would really like to have or a cow. Maybe one of these days.

Love the dog artwork, too. Dogs in decor seems to be really big now.

I don't want to give it all away, but you get the idea.

I have had Leila the last two days when this was delivered and haven't had time to sit down with it for long so excuse me while I get lost in this.
Now, where's my coffee?

This is available through amazon.com. Here is the link if you haven't already ordered it.
I am not compensated in any way. Just want to share the information with y'all.

See you tonight with more of sister's tour.

  5. Going to go check out the book..... the dog art is nice... gives such a peaceful feeling to a room, as does the sheep art.

Love Janet's work. The blue interior of the cabinet adds a touch of whimsy. :-)

  17. Kim, that is opening a book and seeing YOUR house!!! Gorgeous! Enjoy your peace and book time! Jemma cut her toe wide open in two places. We were in the ocean and she must have stepped on a shell or something. She isn't supposed to be walking around for a few days to let it heal. It was too deep to glue and they knew it would be traumatic to stitch, plus it appears if it was an oyster shell it could carry nasty bacteria that they want to come out. So the poor thing isn't really allowed to walk much for another day or two. I have been busy entertaining! Not that I mind! She will be in school soon enough and I won't have this time with her! Enjoy your coffee and your book!

    The King.
Plus, he has the same breed of dog as we do, and I get such a kick out of seeing them in his books.
    Thanks for the heads-up.
I think I'm due for a gift to myself.

Thanks so much for all your advice on my great room. I really need to paint. And my husband wrote down the name of the paint that you suggested so that we can go have a look.

  28. Thank you for sharing with us, it's always good to know about decorating books. I have painted a cow (tiny one may be 12" X 12") they seem to be very popular right now, may be I'll finish it up with a nice frame. I love sheep too.
    Have a wonderful day!

  36. I could look at his rooms for hours. He style truly speaks to me. The details, the layering, I love it all. I know it isn't on trend right now to have trims on drapes and layers of patterns, but I will never tire of it! He creates homes, not houses. Didn't know this was out -- thanks for letting me know!

  37. I have the book on order too. Hope mine comes soon. I totally love his style. Hugs, Marty
