Copper

9.09.2011

I have been slowly acquiring some copper pieces to add to my collection in the kitchen. Copper is such a great accessory when decorating in country French. Today I am sharing my copper molds.

This is my favorite vintage mold. Love the fleur de lis and the patina of this one. Only five dollars.

I went back to an antique mall where I had found some copper pieces before and the booth had moved. I opened an old hutch in one of the booths and copper molds starting pouring out on the floor. I found three of these old round molds. These were six dollars each. Always be sure to open doors on hutches and armoires when out hunting.

Cute pig.

The bunny is not tarnished like the other two.

This is one I have had for a while.

This is my largest piece.
From what I understand it is a strainer that was used to wash vegetables. Only $18.

This wall now has the bunny and the fleur de lis.

The others are on the arched wall.

I also have acquired a few copper things for my pot rack and will show those another time.

Have a super duper weekend!

  14. Do you have to polish them often. I used to have some too, but I remember having to polish them. But I actually like them a little better with some tarnish to them.

  15. Hi Kim, I used to have some copper molds and I had a big huge old copper barrel with iron handles...not sure what I did with that~!I have moved so many times I wonder if it got lost along the way. I love the look of copper, you might be getting the copper trend back in action!
