Who Let the Dogs Out......

10.10.2011

.....who who who who. Sorry, I just had that song pop in my head. I told y'all after not finding any dog pictures at decent prices I finally have had a few show up. I found two more the same weekend that I found the collie picture and these were only $18 each.

This is one of them.

This is the other.

I knew they would be perfect in my sitting room. The frames had a few scratches on them, but I knew they would be easy to fix.

So I grabbed my tube of Rub n Buff in gold leaf and got to work.

I still left some of the black showing.

And this is the after.
I did these a couple of weeks ago and they have been hanging in the sitting room. Then I found some more antique artwork to use in here. So some old cheap pieces moved out and the antique prints have moved in and I will share the new look soon. The small horse pictures on the bottom were so cheap from Garden Ridge over fifteen years ago and the glass is broken in one of them. The top horse picture was also a very cheap Garden Ridge find many years ago. It is just a poster print. Now I have been able to find better quality art to go in here. When I find these deals at the antique malls I have to grab them or someone else will. Now, don't be rolling your eyes I get enough of that from Mr. Savvy.

So this is how it did look which is fine, but the new look is better. I am waiting for an ebay find to come in and then I can share the new and improved look. I had temporarily added these Ralph Lauren shams in here for the cooler seasons, but my new pillow covers that I shared with you yesterday look so much better. I can't wait to show you.

 Have a super duper week!

  5. Well, you can't wait to show us and we can't wait to see. Whoever thought those old dog prints would be so hard to find and make such a comeback after all these years? Isn't it funny how everything, in one way or another, comes round again. Let me just say though-that you will never see me in another mini-skirt-and that's all I'm say 'bout that! xo Diana

  21. Really Kim? I don't believe there much room for improvement. It looks perfect already. But, I know I've felt that way before, so I'll hold off final judgements until you reveal more. By the way, I didn't even know about "Rub n Buff," so I've learned a useful tip!
    Best,

  24. I LOVE the dog pictures :) We have a black & white pointer who only hunts the occassional house fly. I've been thinking about having a formal portrait painted of him for above our bed. I know, kind of a silly place for it, but I can't get it out of my head lately :) Your room looks great!

  25. You did such a nice job hiding the dings. I also have a dog room in our home - DS guest room - and a small collection of German Forest antlers are in our MBR. If you haven't seen, it's under Our Houses and/or Alabama Stone Cottage. Everything looks lovely.
