Wow Us Wednesdays #35

10.12.2011

It's party time again! Time to show off those DIY projects, transformations, crafts, recipes and anything else that will "wow" us. I went through all the links last week and y'all were about fifty percent better than the week before with adding a link back in your posts. Maybe we will get even better this week. You can't be featured if there is no link in your post because most likely it was deleted. So add those links, please.

Here are some features from last week. Thanks to everyone who joined last week!

Designing Domesticity created this wonderful tree in a nursery. I just love the 3D flowers and birdhouse.

For those of you who decorate for Halloween you must check out Dixie Delights over the top decor.

Here is some more Halloween decor inspiration elegant in black and white at White Whimsy.

This transformation really wowed me because this was A Little Bit of Shizzle's first furniture makeover.

Black's Best shares the recipe for pumpkin chocolate chip bread

This cute motor home makeover makes me want to hit the road in style. Check out her homey touches at

Here's a spooky giant yard spider by Jo's This and That.

Save those cardboard tubes from your toilet paper and paper towels and you can create art like this.
Learn how at Revolutionaries. Now that is what I call recycling.

If you were featured feel feel to grab the Featured button from my sidebar.

Now, on to the fun part.

Pahleeze read these guidelines:

Add a visible link to the party in your post or add my Wow button from my sidebar. Linking to "Parties here"or find the parties I am linking to on my sidebar or somewhere else is not acceptable.  No one should have to search for the parties you are joining.
If you find your link deleted then it was not following the guidelines. Just add the link and try again.

I have been told by many of you that you enjoy this party because you receive a lot of traffic from it. I would appreciate some new traffic, too. If you don't have a link to the party in your post then no one has a clue what party you have joined. Readers may notice your link and look at the party and then they may want to join, too. I know this is how I have found new parties and blogs, too.
I know it is time consuming adding links if you are joining a lot of them. Hey, I add them when I am joining parties and adding a link is just part of it. I know how much time the hosts put in. So add a link.

I hope you will take time to visit a few of your neighbors in the party. You may find some new blog friends.
If you are new to my blog I hope you will become a follower.
Please don't link the same thing you did last week.
No advertising or link parties, please.

  16. Great party already. Thanks for doing this every week...I didn't realize until I guest hosted Sherry's linky party that some people don't actually link back. Makes no sense to me. I was also shocked at the people who linked their own linky parties. I thought that took a whole lotta nerve!

  53. Great features, as always!

Also, I am glad to know that it upsets you if someone has a page with their favourite parties. Recently, I switched to doing it this way when I found myself always bookmarking blogs that have them in page form and visiting those parties (but never visiting the ones I saw at a bottom of their specific post -- as often, it is not the right day for that party when I am visiting their post. I have had tons of views of this page since creating it and figured this sent more traffic to the parties that I love compared to putting a link in the bottom of my particular project post. Anyway, not sure if you'd thought about it this way and I'd be curious to know if others are the same (relying on pages that list parties in an organized way versus links embedded in particular posts) but in the mean time will be sure to put a specific link for your party in my posts that I link up.

    Thanks for hosting!

  59. Thank you Kim for hosting! The projects featured this week are so creative! I'm glad you addressed the linking issue. Most people don't realize how by not linking or by linking to a separate page actually can PENALIZE the Host's website and Alexa Rating. Because Google looks upon those absent or bad links as spam. And we sure don't want you penalized!:)

  68. Hi Kim...

Oh shoot..I meant to get over to sign up last night and got busy! Better late than never...so they say. Thanks so much for hosting another week of WOW! I love all the features that you showcased from last week's party. Love Jo's "pumpkin spider"...how clever!

    Warmest autumn wishes,

  69. Kim,

Oh that giant yard spider you featured is too good ... really, I'm scared to death of spiders, but that is so clever! And since I live in Richmond and the University of Richmond is the fighting "spiders" (and my husband is an alum) I'll seriously have to consider a similar pumpkin display in our yard.

Thanks for hosting an always great party; in my post about a paint makeover for my bachelor chest I've also included a couple tips for furniture painting projects.
