Inside Looking Out

11.13.2011

We are definitely at peak color here. When I walked in the sun room this morning I was surprised to see a mama deer and three babies out grazing by our pond. We do have deer around here, but seldom see them. I grabbed the camera while Mr. Savvy held Bailey and kept her quiet so not to scare the deer off.  All these were taken from inside and it is overcast this morning.

The neighbors opened their garage door and the deer scattered with their white tails straight up. My neighbors always have the best timing.

This is our huge maple tree out front and we were surprised to find it completely red when we got home yesterday. The other one has lost almost all its leaves. I never have both of them at peak together.

This is the prettiest this tree has been in years.

This is from the sun room. Soon it will all be gone.

Our Japanese maple by the pond is at peak, too.

Wow, do I have a messy yard to clean up.

Enjoy your Sunday.

  7. Gosh, those are some gorgeous pics! I LOVE the fact that you were able to spot deer in your yard. That is so neat. I bet Bailey would've gone bonkers if she saw them. Ha! I bet you wanted to strangle your neighbors when they scared the deer off. Didn't they know that there was a photo shoot in process?! The nerve! Love the pic looking out of your bedroom window (?) with the large trees.

  8. I enjoyed looking at your leaves. Ours are LONG gone. That one tree is especially beautiful, Kim. We have a lot of deer around here but don't often see them on our side of the street because it is more open towards the water. Love that you got some pictures of them. xo Diana

  12. So lovely to see your "peak". Our's has passed and it is my very favorite time of year! Yesterday I was traveling some country roads with a friend and a deer hit our car! He was a beautiful buck. We think he is okay but the car isn't. They are gorgeous creatures, better seen from your window!

  14. Nice with deers so close to your house. Is it not a bit unusual with three babies for a deer?

  15. Kim, how beautiful! We are finally peeking here in North Texas. And this year I have seen deer in places I never have in my whole life. The drought has them looking for whatever food and water they can find. Don't you just want to put a bunch of corn out there for them? Fall is my fav, thanks for sharing your pics!

  20. The deer and your trees are so beautiful! That red tree is gorgeous and such a nice shape. My hubby startled 2 deer going down our neighbour's driveway this morning as he let the dog out. It's hunting season here right now too. Have a great week.

  28. I really like your laundry room makeover. The stenciling looks wonderful.

The sight of that maple tree almost took my breath away. We don't have any of that kind of color going on here in the desert.

Your new grandson is so precious, and his big sisters are adorable. Aren't "Grands" just grand.....lol!
