Table One

11.19.2011

Today I am sharing one of the two tables ready for Thanksgiving guests. We will have fourteen this year if I counted correctly. So I have the table in the breakfast room ready for six and the dining room will seat eight.

Here is the breakfast room table.

Tom turkey is the star of the show so he sits in the center of the table.

Tom is surrounded by burlap covered potted plants and a couple of owl candles. The plants I have had and the owls are new from World Market.

New plates from Home Goods sit on top of my chicken wire chargers from PB last year.

I used a mix of cloth napkins on this table in fall colors.

Here is one of the wicker napkin rings that I already had and I attached an acorn to it just like the wooden ones I shared in yesterday's post.

I added a leaf and an acorn to some of them.

The runner came from Williams Sonoma last year.

I found these cushions at Home Goods and thought they might make the rush seats more comfortable.

Who ever sits on this side of the table is going to have to look at the back end of Tom.

I thought I would add a couple of these little stick turkeys, from World Market, facing them on this side of the table.

Green goblets that I have had forever. This is the only set of glasses that haven't had one or more break.

I will share the other table next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  11. Looking good! I always worry about what the back of the centerpiece looks like. I don't really like "round" centerpieces, so it is something I'm always dealing with! We are going to my sister's...no table to set here!

  20. Well, it looks great, Kim! You do such a nice job of mix-matching everything. I love it all. Gotta tell you though...you really need to take a couple of little pieces of CAT FOOD (you know-the pellet kind) and put it right behind Tom's butt...just to see if anyone says anything. Okay..and THAT is all the decorating advice I have for you! xo Diana

  29. I'll be glad to come back tomorrow for a giveaway. Meanwhile, I love your table and Tom and the owls, the napkins and rings. Table runner and new seat cushions - all are lovely. I took my turkey out of the freezer today, into the fridge - are you having turkey? What time should we arrive? What, you are only having family? Well, what are we?!?!

    Just kidding, see you tomorrow.

  47. That is GREAT! I LOVE the turkey! People are so clever using slivers of wood to make the feathers of the turkey.

My brother and sister in law have those same green glasses. They got them free when they purchased gas in the early 70's. I don't recall which gas station it was though.

The people sitting at this table will certainly feel special!
