Warm and Cozy

I have been cozying up our bedroom and the guest rooms for the colder weather ahead. I already showed you a few small changes to the master last month, but I had also ordered some new flannel sheets. I have never used flannel sheets on our bed before. One thing I get hot! But I also get cold. It is a battle between the two. Pull the cover up and then throw it back. I am sure there are some other women who do the same thing.
Anyway, I received the L.L. Bean catalog in the mail a couple of months ago and decided to order their ticking stripe flannel sheets.  We slept on them for the first time last night since we have much colder weather coming in this week. Let me tell you. These are the softest sheets ever. It is like sleeping in a big soft cozy hug. I am not compensated in any way for telling you this, but I just had to share them with you. I am going to order a set for one of the guest rooms, too.

I ordered them in the brown ticking for our bed. I just ordered the flat sheet in the solid cream and then got the top sheet and pillow cases in the ticking.

I love to mix patterns and these work well with the vintage ticking bed skirt from PB that I already had.

I also got this new pillow from the Pottery Barn outlet. I had seen it a few weeks ago and didn't get it. Well, it was one of those things that just kept gnawing at me until I went back and got it. I just love it.

I know I probably could have made one of these, but I don't have the patience.

Good night.

So if you want some very soft huggable sheets at a really good price then check them out here.

Have a super week!

It is so nice to jump into a bed with flannel sheets...no cold sheets that you have to warm up! I don't use them on my bed though...too warm for me. Love your pillow too!

Oh my, I have never seen ticking flannel sheets. I think I am in love. I am a big fan of flannel sheets, even though I am going through the big "M" (you know, "private summer" etc), and they work perfect for me for some reason. I think I may just have to order some of these too. Thanks for sharing your great find. Blessings, Barb

Oh, you gotta love those flannel sheets... Love the ticking in brown! We need them up here all winter long. Love flannel pillowcases too! Your new pillow is fabulous...
Have a great week!

Love those ticking sheets! It was probably a good idea that you didn't get a fitted sheet. That would've really made you too hot! This way you can take it off of you if you need to. That pillow is perfect on your bed! Glad you decided to go back and get it.

It looks great Kim! I have been eyeing the PB ticking shower curtain for our guest bath.

I've never seen the ticking sheets, they are a! I, too, suffer from being too hot/then cold while sleeping. It can make for a miserable night! I don't think it ever gets cold enough for flannel sheets here in Georiga!

Your bed looks so cozy! I love ticking and that pillow looks wonderful with it. You are so lucky to be near a PB outlet! But I would never have such good luck going back for something I was thinking about...they always ending up selling the last one!

Ticking and flannel sounds and looks so comfy! I haven't put on flannel sheets in a couple of years because I get too hot, as well. What a beautiful room!

I love love love flannel sheets and always had them on my bed until we got a memory foam bed. It holds heat and when we used the flannel, I thought I was going to melt. We are about to dump that mattress and go back to a normal one! Then my cozy flannels will be back on! I love how your bed looks and your new pillow. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We began using flannel several years ago in winter, and I won't go back... I can't wait to get in between the soft sheets!

We used flannel sheets in our camper this past weekend - in the mountains (Smoky Mt.). It's not cold enough here yet - but we are expecting a cold spell later in the week. I love the coziness, but it has to be cold before I use them. We have several sets.

Your bed looks very pretty. We have some pillows in the same (toile) print.

Hi Kim, Love the changes. I love the striped ticking and the tan is perfect in your room. I get too hot with flannel sheets but have found that if I close my rooms heater vent some that it helps with that. Just a tip in case you start "feeling the heat" so to speak. Love the new pillow also. It was worth the splurge!

Andrea at Opulent Cottage said...

Such a great tip, Kim, I would never have thought to look there for sheets. I'm so all about the ticking this year, and they come in RED too! Thanks!

I love my flannel sheets. I can't use a blanket though. Ok, so your post made me laugh, I start off with the top sheet and comforter, then I move the comforter half way off so my top half is covered by the top sheet only and my legs have both the top sheet and the comforter. In the morning, I grab the comforter and bring it right back up to my chin LOL.

Those look so comfy! I recently put our down comfortor on the bed and had to take it back off.
We are supposed to get some of that colder weather this week.
The brown ticking looks so nice and I am glad you went back for the pillow. Wish we had a PB.

Your bed so looks so inviting. I have used flannel sheets for years during the winter because I am so cold. Then, with the flannel nightgown, the flannel sheets and two duvets and two quilts, I wake up hot, kick it all off and then start over. By morning the bed is destroyed! I think it must just be the female thermostat?!

Is there a PB outlet in Atlanta? I know about the one in SC, did not realize there was one closer.
