Christmas Mantel........days gone by

I loved the way I decorated the mantel last year, but I also like to change things up. I wasn't sure what direction I would go until I saw a couple of cute new things in a Christmas shop. So let's take a look.

I found these vintage style figures at a Christmas shop and just had to have them. I just love the vintage scooter and sled and the cute hand sewn clothes on them. They look like they represent the thirties or forties maybe.

I added candle hurricanes and glass candle pillars with red candles for traditional colors. I had the hurricanes from PB and the pillars are new from the PB outlet. Used garland I had and then tucked in some green sprigs from the Christmas shop.

The Christmas tree candles were also found at the PB outlet. They carry these in the regular stores to this year, but a few dollars cheaper at the outlet.

Same stockings come out each year. I tucked real candy canes from Cracker Barrel in them.

Added back one of my Santa faces. Last year I hung the one that is all white here. This time I used the red hat one.

The rest are some closeups that I took.

The look at night with the candles lit.

Now I just need a good snowfall outside, the fire lit, and a mug of hot cocoa.
In reality it was 70 degrees today. Doesn't feel much like Christmas.

See you Tuesday evening for Wow Us Wednesdays. Bring all your Christmas cheer!

Love those little figurines! I worked on my mantle today but still not sure what I want. As for warm weather, we finally got cold today so now all my summer flowers will die, as well as the Azaleas that just started to bloom and the trees look like fall! Crazy Texas weather!!!!

I love your mantel - the santa face really draws your attention to it. It's funny, but I used red this year on my sideboard - it just seems like the Christmas colour of the year.

This mantle is precious because of the vintage figures and is reminiscent of Christmases past - cute figures.

Cindi @ Rustique Art said...

I love the figurines, they do have that vintage feel, almost like the "Saturday Evening Post" drawings.
The mantle has become almost as fun to decorate as the tree. I hope you get some cooler weather soon, it has finally dipped in Texas and the fires in the fireplace have been nice.

Kim, this is beautiful! I love the vintage figures! They are gorgeous and can be an heirloom to pass down through the years....love them. We are rocking the birds this year...love your red birds...and those stockings!!

It is supposed to be colder today and the rest of the week, so you over in Georgia and me in Alabama, will start to "feel" it a little more I hope!

Very pretty! I just LOVE the cinnamon candy canes from Cracker Barrel--oh and the cherry ones! Yummmmm....

How did you get the santa to stick to the mirror?

Kim @ Savvy Southern Style said...

labbie, I used a command strip. Gotta love them.

Love the vintage Santa. So cute!! Could you pretty please tell me where you bought the mirror? I went though most of your mantle posts, to see if you mentioned it. I LOVE it and it is exactly what I need in my half bathroom....

Kim @ Savvy Southern Style said...

The mirror was bought many years ago at Home Expo before it went out of business. This mirror is HUGE and very heavy.
