Year in Review

I have shown you a couple of my favorite makeovers from this year and now I thought I would compile most of my big projects of 2011 in one spot. There were furniture makeovers and whole room makeovers, too. Lots of paint used around here this year and some plans for more in 2012.

The first time I painted this bench was last January. Of course it got a new do later in the year.

Another project in January was my first time using Mod Podge when I added toile to the doors on this buffet.

Of course later it was transformed again into this.

In February I painted the dresser, mirror and the walls in this guest room. New wall color is Dill Weed by Benjamin Moore.

This bench went from green to a blue gray.

My very first Annie Sloan chalk paint project was this little table I picked up at the antique mall.

In March I recovered this little foot stool and painted the legs.

One of my favorite makeovers of the year was my kitchen getting lighter and brighter. I wish my picture was lighter and brighter. So glad I got a new camera this year. This is with the old one.

In April this chest, which had been previously painted, got updated with chalk paint this year.

In May the built ins also received a new color.

I framed Mr. Savvy's Navy uniform shirt and hung it in the guest room. So much better than hanging
in the closet.

The red hutch got a makeover and moved to its new spot in the master bath.

I put a weathered finish on a dark wood lamp in the guest room using different layers of chalk paint.

Here is the full shot.

The lamp wasn't enough so I weathered the armoire, too. This may get changed again in 2012.

Added an aged finish with more chalk paint to the backs of these bar stools and recovered the seats.

In July this chalk paint color Aubusson became my favorite color. Just wish I had more places to use it.

I got my new chandy hung in the dining room in August.

I took a plain white plastic medallion and made it look old to hang above the new chandelier.

In September was the reveal of my favorite project, the hutch in the dining room. At some point this year the walls were painted in here, too or maybe it was late 2010. I can't remember.

Another September project was transforming a very worn out drum table.

A new chalk paint color came out called French Linen and I just had to use it on this bench.

In October I refinished my sister's mirror for her with the French Linen chalk paint and other layers.

Here it is hanging in her foyer. This was one of my favorite makeovers.

I was so glad to find new pieces for this gallery wall in the sitting room. I am so happy with how it turned out.

Another piece that was changed again. I used the new chalk paint color Coco on this piece.

Major project that was completed was the laundry room and my first time stenciling.
Now laundry isn't such a chore.

Whew, that was a lot of makeovers in 2011.
I have a couple of planned projects for 2012 otherwise I will just wait and see what pops in my head.

Stay tuned.
