Look What I Won

1.05.2012

Thanks everyone for sending your warm thoughts my way today. I felt warmer just from those. The repair man finally came today. Of course today is much warmer. Well, now we will be ready for the next arctic blast.

Last week I had a box delivered. Don't you love boxes arriving on the front porch? I wasn't really expecting anything so I brought it in and saw that it was from Sherry at No Minimalist Here. At first I thought what is Sherry sending me and then I opened the box.

Then when I saw this I remembered that I won her giveaway. These are Intaglios that Sherry made from original Grand Tour molds from the 1700's. You can read what she shares about them here.

They are so pretty. I just love the details of them. Sherry did a grand job on these.

I laid the picture down so there wouldn't be any glare in this shot.

It is placed here on the small chest in the hall as part of this vignette.

I don't know about y'all, but I had a hard time putting vignettes together after the Christmas stuff came down. I almost panicked. Then I just stopped and waited for ideas to come to me. Of course, things have been tweaked and retweaked.

I love it. Thank you, Sherry!

Sherry did a post yesterday saying she has been having some health issues. Let's keep Sherry in our prayers and send healing thoughts her way.

  9. That is an awesome surprise! I love the way they are framed. Sorry to hear you had heating problems. Our main furnace isn't working so we have been using the wood stove until we can afford to replace it next year. Of course, the wood heat is warmer and cheaper but a lot of work!

I will have to stop by and see Sherry. I didn't realize she was having problems.

Congrats! The vignettes look great as usual!

  10. What a great prize. I know you'll enjoy it. Glad you're warmer today and that you're ready for the next cold wave. Love the soda bottle on the table. I wish I had bought one several years ago when I saw them in a store in Fairhope, AL. I have the same lamp (with the bird)but without the fringe on the shade. I love it.

  25. I like that...although it isn't a word I'm familiar with. It looks great in the vignette. Congrats on the win! I still haven't gotten things pulled together into anything interesting. I have a "stark" look going on here right now and I'm okay with it. I had to catch up from the trip and then having dad here before I can think about decorating!
