New Design Trend

1.07.2012

What? You don't have a pedestal sink and light fixture gracing the front of your fireplace? Why not?

Now, I know you must have a toilet tank in your laundry room. No?

Here are some progress pics of the powder room project 2012.

The light fixture has always been too low. Anyone tall was probably very close to the fixture. So Mr. Savvy will be raising it, complaints and all. :)

Here is a dirty little secret. I don't think I have ever shown y'all the wallpaper border. Yes, there is a wallpaper border.

Not too worry because I have been taking it down.

This stuff works great.

Now, we have this lovely look. Yes, that is a faux paint treatment I did years ago.

Since only the toilet tank was removed and not the bowl I can't reach the rest of the border over the toilet so Mr. Savvy will be finishing this part, hopefully today.

When he finishes his part then I will clean this mess up.

We will be reusing what was in there with some paint updates. I would love to have a vanity instead of the pedestal sink or an antique chest turned vanity, but this is such a tight space that it isn't going to happen.
I have ordered a new faucet from Overstock.com and it is on its way.

So this is the new temporary design trend at the Savvy house.

HAPPY WEEKEND!

  2. I have never used many wall borders in any of my decorating....But good to know that there is a good stripper on the market since I have heard nightmares on removing it.

By the way, all my items came to me from Verbena Cottage from winning your giveaway. They are beautiful, can't wait to use them in my new home decor.

    Have a great weekend!

  10. Well, I guess this answers my question on how your bathroom remodel is going! You're doing a complete overhaul, so I can imagine it is taking some time to get done. I guess I shouldn't complain about a little painting project then, should I? I can't wait to see how it's going to turn out.

  14. Well in 2011 I was totally rocking the toilet in the living room style. But, it never caught on enough to become a trend :)

Can't wait to see the bathroom. Question for you... it's hard to tell in the pics, but is the color terracotta? I'm trying to find a nice terracotta paint color if you have any suggestions :)

  44. Good to know about the paper stripper! Cool! I must be weird, but I have never had a real aversion to wallpaper borders. Like wallpaper it comes and goes, but I just do what I like. I like your border. Sorry to be offensive y'all! ;-)

Can't wait to see the finished room!
