Yellow to Aubusson Blue

Since I have been making some changes in the sun room I decided the little yellow table was not working in here anymore so of course I went to my Annie Sloan chalk paint stash and pulled out one of my favorite colors.

I chose Aubusson Blue because I am trying to add a few touches of blue in this room.

Y'all know I always just put down a drop cloth wherever and start painting. I don't have a shop so I just usually work in the sun room or great room.

I painted on two coats of the Aubusson and then waxed with clear wax and sanded heavily.

I love when the old colors show through. Lots of layers are best.

Some dark wax was added in places to add even more dimension.

I love how the blue table picks up the blue in this pillow.

Here is a reminder of when it was yellow.

I'm loving the blue and I have a few more touches of blue that will be added in here soon.

Oh, and I bought the fern last year and it is still doing well.

If you have furniture pieces that aren't quite right just grab some paint and transform it.
Such an easy way to get the look you want and especially easier with ASCP.

If you need Annie Sloan chalk paint I have an awesome sponsor on my sidebar and they have the cheapest prices and flat rate shipping. I also know from experience that they ship very quickly.

Good morning, Kim! What a lovely post to see first thing. I have got to get me some ASCP. Love the little table.
I just put down a drop cloth, too -- let the drops fall where they may!
Best wishes, Cass

Kim I love the new color. I used to have a lot of blue in my house but over the years I got away from it, lately I've been craving more blue so your table is making me look around to see what I can paint blue!

I like the blue so much better, Kim. Actually, I'm trying to get rid of the yellow in my living room. It's a great cheerful color, but I'm already cheerful, I just need to be calm and serene and blue gets me there. Love the change with only little bits of yellow peaking through. Linda

What a fabulous color! Funny, I was never into blue until recently - bought 2 vintage blue velvet chairs and was going to reupholster them but put them in the room and decided they were perfect just the way they are!

Love the idea of ASCP (never used it - but definitely need to give it a try)! I like anything that skips steps - who wants to prime when they don't have to!

Anyway, it's the perfect little table sitting in the corner holding your year old (good job!) fern!

Glad you joined our Cinch party.
