I chose Aubusson Blue because I am trying to add a few touches of blue in this room.
Y'all know I always just put down a drop cloth wherever and start painting. I don't have a shop so I just usually work in the sun room or great room.
I painted on two coats of the Aubusson and then waxed with clear wax and sanded heavily.
I love when the old colors show through. Lots of layers are best.
Some dark wax was added in places to add even more dimension.

I love how the blue table picks up the blue in this pillow.
Here is a reminder of when it was yellow.
I'm loving the blue and I have a few more touches of blue that will be added in here soon.
Oh, and I bought the fern last year and it is still doing well.
If you have furniture pieces that aren't quite right just grab some paint and transform it.
Such an easy way to get the look you want and especially easier with ASCP.
If you need Annie Sloan chalk paint I have an awesome sponsor on my sidebar and they have the cheapest prices and flat rate shipping. I also know from experience that they ship very quickly.

I really liked the yellow but I have to say, I'm loving the blue even better.
Good morning, Kim! What a lovely post to see first thing. I have got to get me some ASCP. Love the little table.
I just put down a drop cloth, too -- let the drops fall where they may!
Best wishes, Cass
Love that new color in there. It's a perfect match with the blue on that pillow. I'm liking touches of blue like that too.
That little table would be pretty in any colour! I do like it in the blue and it looks great with the pillow. ~ Maureen
I absolutely love the blue over the yellow!!! Kudos for this combination!!! Have a beautiful day!!!
I want to try the Annie Slaon paint so bad, I have a yellow small chest I want to paint that color of blue.
I have it in my kitchen
I would have paint all over the room if I did it inside LOl I am not a neat painter
I love the look of the blue table , good job
Wow, great choice, great table, great new color! I have to say, I am in-love with your pillow collection. Where do you find all your pillows? =)

Kim I love the new color. I used to have a lot of blue in my house but over the years I got away from it, lately I've been craving more blue so your table is making me look around to see what I can paint blue!
Kat :)
Love your little table all blued out,Kimmie! You're good.
be a sweetie,

Fabulous Kim! LOVE the blue! You know you are a "serious" follower of someone's blog when you see a picture and know whose it is BEFORE ever clicking on it....that is me about your blog! lol Saw this gorgeous photo and knew it was your beautiful home....
At least I am a "sweet" stalker!

Looks wonderful Kim. I love the addition of the blue.
I love the blue. I've been afraid to try aubusson blue but I'm really liking it on that table. I'm going to buy some and give it a try.

I like it too, Kim, and your fern is so big and pretty. That must be the perfect spot for it.
That table always catches my eye and I loved it yellow but the blue is working for you. Makes it stand out more I think. Thanks for sharing.
You have a lot of regulars! I've got to dig into teh archives and catch up!
I do love the blue! My daughter has a make-up vanity that is a darker mustard color, and she wants to do something different with it. I am pinning this table so I can show her. Thanks for the ideas!!

Great table. The blue with yellow undercoat is perfect!
Wonderful layering! Loving the blue on yellow!
Love the blue... perfect on that table. My ferns to well too... I have had a couple going strong for 3 years.. That's a record for me!
OK, so I really liked it in yellow, but it's equally nice in blue and seems to fit in better. Can we make an 'I Paint Where I Drop My Cloth' club? Now that I know I'm not alone you know there are thousands of us.

It's a beautiful change!
Love the blue. Great job!

The blue is really pretty. The yellow was nice, but I think you're right....this is better.
Love that fern, too.

Really like it in blue. Adds some nice weight to the room. Thanks for sharing, liz
What a great little table, Kim. It's got some great detailing to it. Your fern looks wonderful. I'm hoping to try my hand at a couple soon. I had one once a long time ago and it didn't do very well.
I love how the blue brings out the blue of the pillow! So pretty! Thanks for sharing.
Your little table looks great Kim! Hope you're having a wonderful day, Gail

Awesome transformation!! Love the yellow peeking through -- just the right look.
And yes, Robin Story is the BOMB when it comes to ordering chalk paint-- thanks for directing me to them!
xo heidi
I love the blue! The yellow looks really good underneath, too. Your fern basket is just perfect for your sun room!
Heidi, I am so glad you enjoyed ordering from them.
Thanks!
I like both colors, and I guess with the Aubusson blue and heavily distressed, you get both colors. The table looks good with that cute pillow.
I think it looks great blue, Kim. I love the way it picks up the blue in the Hampshire pillow. Great job...and I like that it is distressed enough so some of the yellow still shows through-xo Diana
I like the blue so much better, Kim. Actually, I'm trying to get rid of the yellow in my living room. It's a great cheerful color, but I'm already cheerful, I just need to be calm and serene and blue gets me there. Love the change with only little bits of yellow peaking through. Linda
Love the blue table and the distressing is fabulous! But I must know where the pillow came from???
Good call. I love the blue! x Julie
Love the table blue and it goes great with that great pillow. Congratulations on keeping the fern alive for a year!
Your little table looks so great in the new blue color. I love that the yellow is still peeking thru too! Have a great weekend :o)

Great choice, the yellow was lovely but the blue really pops. Love your fern and that pillow too. Okay, I love the entire room!!
Hey Kim! I loved it yellow, but the blue looks so much better in that room - especially next to that great pillow. Nice job!
xoxo,

Very pretty Kim! I haven't been a fan of the color blue since I was a kid but I find myself drawn to it now. Funny how our taste change! I love the fern. I have tried & tried but can't keep them alive. I'm going to try again & pick some up this weekend. Any tips?
Hi Kim, I have to say I love yellow, a lot! Having said that I think the little table looks fabulous painted blue and the color really pops behind the white. The blue in the pillow has a partner not. I love it………

So cute! You know I love blue. Sweet touch in the sunroom!
I liked both the yellow and the blue, but have to admit that Aubboson is my favorite ASCP colour. It looks great on your table!
Looks super. The blue is such a pretty color. I also really liked the yellow. Hugs, Marty
I believe this little table would look wonderful what ever color it is, but the blue is really pretty!

I liked it in yellow but the blue is awesome, too. You always do such a great job.
I've lost your sis's blog....and have forgotten the name. Oh, dear...I am olden and sooo forgetful.

Blue with a hint of yellow peeking through really suits that little table. And a perfect "easy peasy" change of personality ...
Thanks for linking it up at our "It's a Cinch" party ...
:)
Linda
Your table is so lovely. The color is perfect.
Ruth
The yellow was very pretty, but that blue is great. You are right, it picks up on the pillow just perfect.
Thank you so much for taking the time to link up to our party!

What a fabulous color! Funny, I was never into blue until recently - bought 2 vintage blue velvet chairs and was going to reupholster them but put them in the room and decided they were perfect just the way they are!
Love the idea of ASCP (never used it - but definitely need to give it a try)! I like anything that skips steps - who wants to prime when they don't have to!
Anyway, it's the perfect little table sitting in the corner holding your year old (good job!) fern!
Glad you joined our Cinch party.
Kelly
Hi, Kim! Found this post I had missed!
Cream and Aubusson Blue were my first ASCP colors, and I still have lots. I have been wondering what to do with them, this little table looks awesome!
Thanks for the inspiration!
