Generosity and a Giveaway

4.22.2012

I did a post a few weeks back about how disappointed I was that I had to miss the Annie Sloan US tour when she came to Atlanta. This was at the same time that Mr. Savvy hurt his back and he had pre op on the day of the tour so I couldn't attend.

My dear blogging friend, Janet of The Empty Nest, went over and beyond and did the sweetest most generous thing for me. Janet is a stockist of Annie's paints and waxes in her area of Virginia. After putting together the tour in her area she was also invited to help teach how to use the paints at the Boston part of the tour which was next. Just look how cute her note card is.

Long story short Janet just happened to end up sitting by Annie and her husband on the plane to Boston. How cool is that?

While sitting next to Annie, Janet told her about my situation and how I had to miss the Atlanta stop on the tour. She also told Annie how much I love her paint and showed her some of my projects on my blog. Annie was so gracious to autograph her book for me!

Then sweet Janet mailed this to me and when I opened it and read Janet's note I was so touched and brought to tears. I cannot believe Janet thought of me while sitting next to Annie on the plane. I will cherish this book forever.

Now, lucky for you, since I have an autographed copy of her book, I am going to give away my other book, unsigned of course, to one of you who may not have one and would like one. I certainly don't need two so I will share my other one with one of you.

This book is full of beautiful furniture that has been transformed with Annie's paints and waxes and you can learn tips and tricks for creating different looks.

To Enter:
All you have to do is leave me a comment that you would like this book and if you have used Annie's products before or are new to this and would like to learn.

For an extra chance please like my Facebook Page and leave a separate comment on this blog post.

PLEASE LEAVE THE COMMENTS HERE. THEY DO NOT COUNT ON FACEBOOK!

Sorry this is open to US residents only. I will use random.org and name a winner on Tuesday.

GOOD LUCK!

And I feel so honored and blessed to have been welcomed into this fold. To have such thoughtful friends who maybe we have not yet met or never ll actually meet in person is amazing to me. So thank you for posting about the kindness of others, it makes us all feel so much more connected.

  75. Well, I read all the other wonderful comments & realized I have nothing "outstanding" to say so I will just admit the truth - I know nothing about these paints & would love to learn about them. I always enjoy adding new techniques to my crafting & this sounds perfect. Now I know I wont win because I am not that lucky! I once took part in a Chinese Auction & entered to win a prize that had only 1 other ticket in the bag. Unbelieveably, I lost! I had a 50/50 chance at it & STILL lost! So I guess that means, given my lousy chance at winning I will have to investigate this myself! LOL!
Thanks for the chance to win & good luck to everyone else!

  175. Hey Kim~
A wonderful giveaway! I've used the paints many times, and have never had a chance to see the book. Sounds like you love it.

The new burlap panels look great! The top detail makes them a bit more special than a plain panel.

And thanks for posting about the stools. I never thought to check World Market since we no longer have one close by. Might be worth checking online.
    Cheers~
