The Olive Bucket and the Winner

4.17.2012

The olive bucket was one of my special finds from the weekend and I want to show you where it is being used.

It is holding my new Kimberly Queen fern. The other fern that was here before has moved outside and the orchard basket it was in is being used for something else.

I bought this fern a couple of weeks ago when I went with my daughter and Leila to the garden center and it was only 9.99 and huge.

I had to put a bunch of plastic grocery bags in the bottom of the bucket to make the plant fit better and to keep drips in the container and not on my table.

Fingers crossed that the fern does well in here.

And now, for the winner of the Charley burlap letter pillow from Kijsa's Etsy shop using random.org is #74,

Sue of Rue Mouffetard.
Congrats to Sue!

  11. Your fern looks good in that bucket. As long as it doesn't get too hot in the window, it should do well. I have ferns on my porch and they do well. However, the one closest to the railing where the sun comes in usually doesn't do as well as the one on the other side with more shade. I love the texture on that bucket. I'd like to get one of those buckets one day.

  14. I love your Kimberly fern! I have several and I do so much better with them than the Bostons. I, too, use plastic grocery bags to give items a need boost and to keep drips at bay! And, your olive basket looks great. I posted on mine the other day. It will hold a plant, too, at some point.
    Happy Tuesday.

  15. Hi Kim,
I am loving that olive bucket. Either I've never noticed them before when I'm out and about, or they aren't in abundance in these parts. I'll have to be on the lookout because they have a wonderful charm. Your fern looks beautiful in it!

  28. I keep saying to myself "you cannot go anywhere near Atlanta in search of Olive buckets you do not have a prescription for Valium". I am afraid of the traffic you know...give me Augusta traffic and I am fine. It looks terrific Kim.

  44. I don't know why I never think to get a fern for my house. I'm on a wooded lot and have a deep front porch, and we have little natural light inside, so I never get plants. A fern would be a perfect choice. Your little olive basket is so cute too!
