The Lucky One

5.05.2012

I haven't shared any movie reviews lately and this one is a new favorite. "The Lucky One" with Zach Efron and Taylor Schilling, adapted from the book by Nicholas Sparks, is so good. Blythe Danner is also in it and I always love to see her in things. The mister was hesitant to go and said it was a chick flick, but he liked it, too.

The house in this movie is the kind I would love to have with the old wood floors, high ceilings, and wavy glass windows and doors. Even Mr. Savvy whispered to me and said you like this house don't you? He knows me too well.

This little boy who plays her son is too cute.

Just look at the build up of layers of paint on this door and that old glass. Just had to squeeze this one in.

Even though I was checking out the home and the beautiful scenery in this film the story was very good, too.

So glad we went to see it.

 Grab your date and go!

I am going to be outside working on cleaning windows and gardening today.
Have a good one!

  2. Everytime I saw the commercials on TV for this, I kept thinking it was John Stamos. Finally figured it out.

  7. You solved a mystery for me with the photo of the mother and child on the bed. I have the top piece of the headboard and have been wondering just what it came from. Now I know. Thank you!

  11. Thanks for the review. I loved the book and hoped the movie would be good too. I love seeing movie houses ever since I obsessed over the house in Mr. Mom. I think I even used to dream about it!

  13. Glad to hear you liked this movie. I've enjoyed all of Nicholas Spark's books and the movies too and have been looking forward to seeing this one. The "critics" said it was too tame, too clean, not enough sex to make it interesting. Can you believe that?!? Craziness. Anyways, glad to hear a good review from someone with common sense. : )

  14. I have been wanting to go and see this movie but in a house full of men we went to go and see The Avengers. A tad long and my youngest fell asleep in part of it. It needed to be edited down some but over all a great movie for those who love action. I still want to see this one though. Have you seen The Descendants yet with George Clooney? We watched that a few ekes ago here at the house. It was really good but a tear jerker. I knew what I was getting into but hubby didn't and he didn't like it as much.
